I paused for a second. "W-what?"
"Did I stutter?"
WOAH.
"Come. Downstairs."
I got out of bed and put my slippers on "O-okay, why?"
He hung up.
Well, fuck.
I rush down the stairs, trying to calm myself down. I stop right before the door to check and see if I look like I was crying (I couldn't even tell it was so dark), and looked outside. There he was, leaning against his car, his breath making clouds in the cold night.
I opened the door, and slowly walked over to him. The way he was standing there in his leather coat, his work clothes still on (button up white shirt with black pants), him leaning against his sports car... I couldn't keep my eyes off him. I kept thinking about him saying 'did I stutter,' but him clearing his throat brought me out of my daze. We stood there just staring at each other awkwardly.
We looked into each other's eyes. His were very dark, cold, and had no expression. But the more I looked, the softer his eyes got, and the warmer he looked. We stood there for seemingly ever, when he finally got up and came over to me. I was suddenly grabbed and had two muscular arms around my waist. Levi was hugging me.
Although he wasn't holding on very tight, and it was very awkward, my heart was fluttering like crazy. Levi has never been this close to me. I could smell very expensive cologne and espresso beans on him. He was very warm but very stiff. I was melting. I slightly put my arms around him.
He hugged me a bit tighter. "I don't hate you." he said. He pulled away, looked at me for a moment, and got in his car and drove off, just leaving me there in the cold, almost winter night.
I stood there. It was probably for a minute or two, but it seemed like forever. I looked down at my arms, which were once around Levi.
"What the fuck." I said and tears started to pour out of my eyes.
I calmed down a bit before I walked back up the stairs. The trek upstairs felt longer than before. I slowly opened the door to see Mikasa in the kitchen, making tea.
"Hey- are you okay?" She set the kettle down. And just like that, I broke down all over again. I told her everything. I told her about the hug, his eyes, how he doesn't hate me, how confused I am. I left nothing a secret.
"Y/N," Mikasa said once I calmed down a bit, "sit and think for a second. Try to decipher your feelings through all this. You need to come to terms with how you feel."
"But I don't know! I have no idea why I'm even crying. He isn't that important to me? Right?" I put my head in my hands.
Mikasa sighed. "Y/N..."
I looked up. She furrowed her brow and pressed her lips.
"I know..." I said.
"Then tell me."
"I..." I started, "I think I like Levi. No, I know I do. But why? What is it about him that I find so attractive?"
"Uh, you literally just told me how hot he was in his jacket, how warm his eyes are. how-"
"Okay, okay," I sighed, "I get it. But, what do I do?"
"What do you want to do about it?" Mikasa asked.
"I have no clue."
"Well," Mikasa stood up from the table, "that's up to you to decide. You know your options- you could talk to him or repress it until you explode. I can't help you make that decsion, its up to you."
