As nighttime fell across Reatania, the Beastmaster led the Ninja to their rooms, and everyone headed for their bunks to get tucked in for the night. But when the lights were off and everyone was asleep, Cole lay there, wide-eyed and awake with questions on his mind.

Then his attention snapped to the door of their space as he heard a voice talking. It sounded like the Beastmaster's, but then someone responded and he didn't know who that was.

So Cole looked around the room, and he was surrounded by assuring snores that everyone was asleep. So he turned back the covers of his bed and stepped down on the floor where he slowly and quietly snuck over to the door and peered through it. In the gap, he saw the other figure by the Beastmaster's side as they were walking away. Cole still couldn't hear what they were talking about, so he just had to investigate. That's why he was a ninja, right?

Cole swiftly dashed out of the room and followed after them. Hiding in doorways and behind corners, until the duo walked out of the portal tunnel. Cole squinted, and then he headed through the tunnel after them in pursuit of answers.

On the other side, Cole rolled behind a couple of crates and kept hidden. He looked over one of them and watched the duo talk, listening closely to their words, but they were difficult to hear. Whispers. Cole turned his head and tried to listen through his ear, cupping it in hopes it would make the task easier, next thing he knew, however, they were still walking away.

"Oh come on..." he commented to himself quietly, then he turned to move to a different spot when he shrieked.

"Shh! You'll give us away!" Ryo remarked quickly and harshly, putting her hand in front of Cole's mouth the second he shouted.

Cole moved her arm away and crouched down behind the crates completely. "What are you doing out here?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Ryo whispered. "I think I know who the Beastmaster is--but I'm trying to figure out how to prove it first. And that other person, I want to figure out who they are, too."

"Well, I guess we should work together then," Cole replied. "I'm trying to figure out who they are, too. Speaking of, we need to catch up with them or we might miss something important!"

Cole led the way and Ryo kept close behind. Sneaking across the deserted basement, then up the sandstone stairs, they reached the surface but had to duck down quickly on the steps. The Beastmaster and cloaked figure were right in front of them.

"...but Vengestone is the best method we have for our problem," the cloaked figure said. "Only if we do this correctly. Understand?"

"Yes--but I'm lost as to how we're supposed to rely on a volcano that hasn't been active in decades to erupt in time to turn the Griffies into stone," the Beastmaster replied. "Let alone, erupt at all."

"You will require the ninja's help with that," the figure explained. "Three of them have powers that'll be perfect for the task."

"And those are?"

"Earth, Lightning, and Vengestone."

Cole looked over at Ryo and Ryo looked at him. Nobody knew she was a ninja other than those in Ninjago, but even then, it was only a handful of people. Second of all, how did they figure out she once had powers with Vengestone?

"The first and last one make sense, but Lightning? How does that aid in the eruption?" asked the Beastmaster.

"With how long the Griffies have been around, we will need a very powerful explosion from the volcano, powerful enough to produce lightning in the sky," they said. "He will have to use this energy to bring forth a bigger eruption that will not miss the Griffies--and all of them will need to be quick doing so."
