Vance: at first they didn't like him at all cause he was always fighting people who pissed him off and they thought that since he had anger issues he was gonna hit you. But you told them that he will never hurt you no matter what and since they trusted you they trusted him.
Bruce: he was a gentleman to you and them so they loved him (more than you tbh)
