Chapter III - Spinner's End

Then I saw him. Black, shoulder-long hair and a long cape.

I nervously walked up to him.

He slightly raised his eyebrows, then he said: "Hello Liv"

I politely smiled "Hi... uh- sir...?"

"You can call me Severus" , he said calmly.
We shook hands.

"I hope you packed everything"

"Of course! Everything is in my trunk"

"Brilliant. Now, take my hand"
As soon as I took his hand, we both apparated.

After we landed my head was still spinning and I was glad I didn't throw up.

I looked around. We were standing in a narrow alley. It was raining.

"This way" , my godfather said. I spotted a sign.

Spinner's End.

We walked out of the alley and stood between two houses. He went to the house on the left and opened the door.

We walked in.

It was a small, cozy living room with two seats and a little table. The walls were filled with shelfs with tons of books on them.

"Upstairs is your room, come on, I'll show it to you", Severus said.

I followed my godfather upstairs. The room was pretty small, there was a bed in the corner, a bookshelf, a small window across the room and a desk with a chair. Little stars were hanging above the bed.

"You can unpack your things here"
"Mhm" , I mumbled.
As he left the room, I started taking my things out of my trunk.
Once I was done I went downstairs.

"Lily!" , I cheered as I saw my owl fly trough the window in the living room.

"What?"

"Oh nothing, I was just talking to my owl"

"You named your owl Lily?" , my godfather said with raised eyebrows.

"Yes, well my mother was named Lily so I named her after her" , I explained.

"Oh..."

Moment of silence

"Do you want anything to eat or drink?"
"Sure"
"I'll be right back"

I sat down in one of the seats.
He came back with a platter of biscuits and two cups of tea. Then he placed it on the small table and sat down too.

"So... did you get the letter?" , he asked.
"Yes, and one question: will I have to buy a new uniform?"
"Of course. We'll buy it in Diagon Alley once you get your Hogwarts letter and the list of supplies you will need to buy"
"How much would that cost me? I mean, I only have a few dozen Galleons with me..."

"I will pay for it"
"Wait, really?"
"Yes"
"Wow, I- well... thank you" , I smiled.
"No problem" , he replied calmly.

I took a sip of my tea. It was black tea with a hint of sweetness.

"So... what's your patronus?"
"Why do you ask?"

"No particular reason, just out of interest" , I said.

"It... doesn't matter"

Silence

"Soo... you teach potions at Hogwarts?", I asked because I wanted to break the silence.

"Yes. But I've actually wanted teach Defence Against The Dark Arts for a long time"

I nodded.

"I am also the Head of Slytherin house"

"Really? That's so cool! And how many houses are there at Hogwarts?" I asked.

"Well there's Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. That's four houses in total"

"In Beauxbatons we only have three. Bellefeuille, Ombrelune and Papillonlisse, the house that I went to" , I explained.

He slightly nodded.
