-It's time for work now.-Alby stood up-Newt, show Sara her job for today. You will be responsable for her this week, until she gets used to it.
-Don't worry, Alby. You know it's not my first time.-Newt answered confidently.-Let's go now, we have alot to do.
I followed him to a huge wall, on which were carved various names. Each name was written in a different handwriting, and some of them were crossed out with two or three lines. Newt took a knife, and gave it to me.
-Come on, write your name.-Newt pointed to the wall with his hand.
-Does everybody doing that?
-Yes, when they remember their name, they write it here.
-Why are some names crossed out?
-We had a bad days here also, not just good. When the time comes, you will find out everything you have to know.
-Okay. So where should I write it? Is there any rule?
-No, just write it where you want it and how you like it. That doesn't really matter.
-Okay.-I rested my left hand on the wall, while with my right hand I began to carve the first letter of my name. The wall was hard, I couldn't carve my name deep enough for it to be visible, so I looked at Newt for a moment and kept trying.
-Want me to help you?
-No, I will do it by myself, but thanks.-I tried to prove that I could engrave the name myself, but I failed.
I turned to Newt and handed him the knife. He looked at me as if he was saying "I told you so", but he saw that I was uncomfortable, so he just turned to the wall and started carving my name.
-Thanks, Newt.-I told him with an awkward smile.
-You're welcome, greenie. You see? Done! Do you like it?
-Yeah, I mean it's better than mine. Also, you have very nice handwriting.
-Thanks!-He smiled nicely.
-So what now?
-Now we are going to work in the garden.
As we were walking towards the garden, we ran into Thomas.
-Hey Thomas, how are you?-I asked like nothing happened last night.
-I'm okay i guess, I don't know. But thanks for asking. How are you?
-I'm pretty good. It's nice here.
-Well even if it's the worst place we don't have a choice.
-Okay Thomas, you don't have to be rude.-Newt defended me.
-Chill, blondie.-Thomas responded.
-Guys stop arguing, it's not worth it.-I tried to calm them.
-Go do your job, Newt.-Thomas kept fighting, but Newt didn't responded, he just looked at him.
-Thomas, you have work to do, like us. Better go.
Thomas left. After 5 steps he turned and looked at us.
-What happened to him?-I asked Newt.
-Long story. He don't usually talks about it, so we also avoid to do that. I guess he will tell you the story soon, don't ask me how do I know.
My attention was drawn by the forest that was in the corner of the field.
-What's in there?
-Just trees, some plants, nothing special-Newt looked like he is hiding something. He seemed surprised by the question, so he got off topic.-We have to do these three rows, after that we will add water. Then we are going to see if someone needs help.
-Okay.
