Synopsis: Rei confides in Rem's comfort after heartbreak.

Rei honestly knew Iida had been debating about it for a while. And now, it had happened. He had broken up with her, but had reassured her he still loved her. He said he just wanted a break so he could focus on studies and hero work. "We'll be back together in due time, Rei," he reassured and kissed the top of Rei's head gently. Rei nodded silently. Her hands shook as they rested at her sides as Iida walked away after patting her head.

And that was it. They were over... for now. But how long would 'for now' be? A month? A year? Rei couldn't stop worrying. Her mind raced and felt a bit scattered. She sighed, cooling herself down and taking a few steady breaths. Until she calmed herself enough to continue with the day.

It felt like there was something pressing against the tear ducts of her eyes the whole day.

Rem was sorting through her collectable hero trading cards, counting the ones she had of Mirko, her favorite pro currently. She couldn't get enough of her. She beamed in excitement as she set them in a pile, her nine kitsune tails wagging behind her to show it. Until she heard a light knock on her door. "Coming!" She called and rushed over to the door. She enthusiastically swung it open, she had always liked unexpected visitors in the dorms.

There stood Rei in the doorway, her hands clasped at her abdomen and her expression downcast. "Rem..." she said quietly, her voice trembling a bit. Rem raised a brow and crossed her arms.

"What's got you more gloomy than you usually are?" Rem questioned, her eyes narrowing down as she grabbed Rei's shoulders in her hands. As if in one split second, Rei changed. Hot tears cascaded down her face, slipping off her cheeks easily. Her body was trembling almost violently. "Woah! You good?"

"N-no..." Rei whimpered and shook her head, covering her face with her hands and occasionally wiping away her own tears. "I-I need someone to talk to..." Rem furrowed her brows and nodded fervently. She pushed Rei inside her dorm and locked the door. Rem patted a spot on her pink bedspread, which was topped off with a Sakura tree pattern.

"What's up?" Rem asked quietly. "You need anything? Tissues, food? Pills?" Rem put extra emphasis on the part about pills. Rei shook her head and grabbed a fluffed pillow, hiding her face in it. Rem frowned and outstretched her arms. She contorted her face into a wide grin. "Hugs?" Rei lifted her face from Rem's pillow and scooted closer to her, wrapping her arms around her in a hug. Rem hugged back, but made sure her grip was tight.

"I'm sorry," Rei whispered. "I know you can't handle people when they cry..." Rem shook her head with furrowed brows. She patted Rei's back softly.

"Never apologize for that!" Rem exclaimed loudly, causing Rei to jump a bit in Rem's tight embrace. "It's obviously not your fault that you're like this. I mean-- you're never like this!" Rem let Rei go and crossed her arms. "Who did this."

Rei hesitated a bit and rubbed her arm sheepishly. Her eyes still felt hot from the tears, which were slowly drying up. Rei let a sigh loose from her lips before finally letting it out. "... Iida broke up with me," she began. "Temporarily. He said it was to focus on his studies... b-but how long will that be? What if he's just saying that to lead me on..." Rem shushed Rei calmly. But she couldn't mask the utter contempt she felt towards Iida.

"I'm gonna beat him up," Rem stated. "You can't stop me. He's gonna get his fucking shit handed to him. In fact, I'll eat his liver! My mouth is watering from how good it must taste--"

"No!" Rei cried and lightly hit Rem's arm. Rei immediately shied away and recoiled. "You can't do that... if it's his choice, I can't really be mad at him." Rei averted her gaze to the ground and sifted a hand through her own hair nervously. "Besides... we just broke up. I doubt he's over me, either." The two sat in silence for a few moments.

Rem broke the silence, mainly because she couldn't handle silent and awkward situations. "... You're scared you're gonna lose him, huh?" Rem asked and chuckled to lighten the mood. "Like with Overhaul. You were afraid he'd abandon you." Rei's eyes flickered to Rem for a moment before returning them to the ground.

"... Yes," Rei whispered. "He's too special. I told him all of my problems and my life's burdens. If he leaves me, I'll be nothing." Rem hummed and averted her own red eyes as well. Before bringing them over to Rei.

"... Ojiro broke up with me, too," Rem confessed. "Pretty sure it's because of Hagakure... but I don't care! I have plans to show him up and beat him to a pulp!" Rei's brows raised in a bit of surprise. She thought they were extremely loving and committed. "I swear, I can still eat Iida's liver. The offer still stands."

Rei furrowed her brows. "Cannibalism is illegal," she stated flatly, before curling up into Rem's bed. Rem chuckled and followed suit, flopping next to Rei with a sigh of contentment.

"I swear, you dating Iida has made you have a stick shoved up your ass." Rem looked over only to see Rei's disappointed gaze. She sat up and waved her arms around. "Come on, I'm not lying! Before you just didn't care; you were neutral about rules. And then Iida showed up and you started actually giving a shit!"

Rei simply hummed and turned the other way with a sigh. Rem frowned. "You really are into him, huh?" Her voice was a bit downcast, but still a bit cheerful and bubbly, as per usual. Rei nodded. "...Want another hug?" Rem tapped Rei's shoulder. Rei hesitantly sat up and allowed Rem to wrap her arms around her.

"What will I do now that we're not together?" Rei asked quietly. Her voice was hushed and dull. She showed more emotion than she usually did now. Rem thought about it for a moment, pressing her index finger to her lower lip in thought.

"You could date someone else to get back at him," Rem offered. "I'm looking for someone right now just to show that generic tail man what he's missing." Rem smiled proudly before averting her attention to Rei. Rei was looking up at her. Her eyes were seemingly sparkling. They looked beautiful, like there were stars in them. Rem blushed a bit.

And Rem didn't hesitate to plant her lips on Rei's own. It felt wonderful. They weren't chapped or dry. They were soft, incredibly soft. Almost fluffy. Rei seemed startled, as Rem felt her body tense against hers, but she relaxed. Rei eventually kissed back after much hesitation. A blush planted both girls' cheeks as they quickly departed. "Oh my God..." Rem muttered in a bit of awe and surprise. "I did that."

"You did," Rei stated and pressed a hand to her own cheek, seemingly to feel how hot it felt. Rei still had to catch her breath from it. "... It wasn't as good as Iida's kisses... but it felt amazing," Rei confessed. Her heart was racing beyond belief, to the point where Rei had to put a hand on her chest to slow it-- using her quirk.

"Uhm..." Rem mumbled, and she found it a bit hard to speak from the lump in her throat. She swallowed nervously. "Would you wanna maybe try something with me? In secrecy. Iida doesn't have to know." Rem loomed her face before Rei's, staring deep into the quiet girl's eyes. Rei nodded with a sharp inhale.

"I would like to try," Rei responded. "It doesn't seem too bad." Rei smiled a bit at Rem and shied away a bit. Rem reciprocated it and gave Rei a toothy grin, which showed off her fangs.

Rem's tail was wagging faster than it ever had before.
