Samantha translates to "God has heard" if you follow the Hebrewic origin or "blossom" if you follow the Greek origin. Ashington translates to "ash-grown" and "valley".

While Samantha is her legal name, Sammie almost always goes by Sammie instead. Often showing discomfort for those who use her full name. It's due to the fact that only her family members use her full first name and she has a strained relationship with them.

There's also some less serious and more teasing ones, like Headphones or Grumpy. Headphones started with Ocean- as it was originally meant mockingly to poke fun at the fact that Sammie never takes her headphones off and slowly the nickname spread throughout the choir group.

Grumpy was actually from Noel, who gave her the title after noting her typically sour attitude and general off-putish nature. It came from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
