Amara Moratti
Pain.
Darkness.
And then again pain.
———
We sometimes do realise that life is so much more, I'm movies we see how someone's life flashes before them before they die. We see them as children, teenagers, as everything they ever were, but never what could have been. What would have happened if there wasn't an accident on her way to her wedding.
What would have happened if? Is always the question on my mind. The moment my life flashed in front of me the only thing I fällt was fear. I wanted to life, to marry Ace, to have as many children as I could want, to see my children grown up and get married.
Was that not going to happen.
But I knew I was still alive when I felt the pain. The pain of living. I felt everything, my hands, my legs, my hair touching my shoulders. I heard them talking, I wasn't sure who and why but I did.
I couldn't remember what happened, it way it happened. I wasn't sure how I gut here and how I was still alive. I wasn't sure about anything.
But I felt it. Fear. My fear. But also not mine. Hands touching me, voices calling my name. I wasn't sure where I was or who was with me.
I felt the fear, the fear of losing something, but I couldn't remember what. My mind wasn't working, my thoughts were not working, o couldn't think.
~later~
What was going on? Light flickered in front of my eyes, but I wasn't opening them. Hands Werte touching me again, I could feel it. I heard someone cry, someone was sitting next to me.
They were talking. I could hear it, but my mind couldn't put together the words, what were they saying? I wanted to cry, I wanted to open my eyes. Ace. I wanted to see Ace, tell him I was sorry.
He was right, I should have stayed at home, I should have stayed in his office, I should have hide. But that isn't me, I am an assassin, I just didn't see it coming. I heard the shoot, I felt the pain. I felt the bullet hitting me, tearing though my skin.
I never really knew what pain felt like, of course there were cuts and small wounds but nothing more. Until I got hit by a bullet, the pain I felt mixed with the fear. I never wanna feel that again.
~later~
"She will wake up again, the baby is alive and healthy, but she should stay on bed rest for at least a month." I heard a voice say. I couldn't put together the things I knew and what I didn't knew.
The voice, I remembered that voice, who was talking. "Okay, thanks Nate" another voice said. Nate. Nate the doctor, I remembered him. Who was the other one taking, I knew the voice.
My hearth started to warm up when I heard his voice, I felt butterflies inside my belly. Ace. There was only one person who could get that reaction out of me. That one person was Ace. He was here. He was sitting next to my bed, waiting for ne to wake up.
I knew he loved me, I loved him too. He knew that, hopefully. I just wanted to lay next to him, I wanted to feel hi s warm body next to mine, his hand on my growing belly.
~later~
I felt the pain, not only at my side but inside my head. I felt the air leaving my lungs and my moving fingers. I tried to open my eyes, slowly. The first few times it didn't work and my head started to feel weird.
I had a bad headache, it only grew the more I tried to open my eyes. I felt so tired and I wasn't even awake, well not completely. My mind was awake but my body was tired.
Ace DeAngelo
Nate gave me an update on how Amara was doing. He said her mind was fully awake, she could most likely hear is taking. The baby was fine, it wasn't even hurt or something, there was nothing.
He said that it was an wonder that it was still alive, after Amara had lost so much blood. 9 in 10 times a woman loses her child while losing so much blood, even more after being shoot, but not Amara.
She was a fighter, she always will be one. Which was one of the things I liked most about her, but also that she was so emotionally. She was an assassin, but still she held so much emotion inside of her.
After everything that happened to her she was still so full of life. When I saw her, lying on the floor in her own blood, without much life inside of her, it killed me. It was like I could feel her pain, in that moment I knew I would to anything to keep her save even if it meant I had to keep her away from me.
She was going to be my wife, she was going to be the one who carries all my children inside and who I get to sleep next to every single night. Nothing was going to change that, not even a fucking war.
I closed the paper and placed it on her nightstand. Even now Amara looked half dead, her light tanned skin was nearly white and her hair looked like it has lost all his colour. I touched her hand, she was cold, not too much but still she was cold.
Looking like she was dead.
"I'm sorry Amara, I have no other choice" I said, before leaning over to kiss her on the forehead. I brushed a few of her hair out of her face before getting up to leave.
With each step I started to question myself if I was doing the right thing. I closed the door of her room beflute walking down the hallway, as fast as I could. I needed to get away from her as fast as I could or I would change my mind.
