There are a lot of characters that are just Isaac with some different starting items and stats, and that's fine, obviously, but it's also just, really boring ngl. It's no god damn wonder your brain goes on auto-pilot during runs, when every character, different as they may be in the beginning, all feel the exact same towards the end.
I think a way to fix that issue is to provide emphasis on their gimmicks, by changing around the weights related to some of their pickups and items, so that the entire run, the whole way through, feels like that character. At least make it feel that way for longer than just the god damn beginning. For Maggie, heart drops could easily be less common, so that she would have to use her Yum Heart a bit more, but also make HP up items have more of a chance to appear for her, which would also incentivize using the Yum Heart more with more HP.
