"This is crazy...I mean...You...I mean obviously, I know what I saw...it's just....wow." Kadence sighed sitting down at her desk. Micha sat across from her but remained silent. "I mean I knew ya'll....existed but...never in a hundred years did I think....." "I'm sorry I barged in here on you like this, but...I needed help." "Why me though? I mean of all the places you could have taken him..." "I can't just take him anywhere. They were visiting another pack not far from here when they were outnumbered. I knew I had to take him somewhere that would help him." She looked up at Micha trying to make sense of everything. "But why me?" "Because I can sense something in you. Something strong. Something honest. Now, are you going to tell me I'm wrong?" Micha explained with a small smile. Kadence laughed looking down at her desk, as he stood and walked into the surgery room where Axton began to stir.
"Mmmm..." "Shh...Axton lay still." "M..Micha..." Axton groaned, struggling, his voice just above a whisper. "Alpha you're okay. You need to lay still. You've been stitched up." Micha held him down gently, but still, Axton fought to get up. "Mmmm! Micha....I...I gotta...sit up." He groaned and Micha sighed heavily because there was no use arguing. "How are you feeling?" Kadence asked stepping into the room. Axton looked up suddenly, a rich lavender sent hitting him all at once. He was struck by her. She was intoxicating. Long reddish, brown hair that hung just above the small of her back. Neon green eyes, freckles that lined each cheek and across the bridge of her nose, sexy curves. She wasn't skinny, but she was far from fat. She had just enough curves in all the right places and was muscular. "Damn..." He mumbled silently as she smiled. "Here let me check the stitches." She reached toward his side hesitantly.
Her breath caught in her throat as she gently touched his skin. He smelled masculine and woodsy, and now with him sitting up she felt even smaller beside him. He was huge compared to her. Kadence fought to look up at him, but she could feel his gaze down on her. "Who are you?" He asked softly. "I am a vet usually, but I guess I played doctor tonight and sewed you up. My name is Kadence." She explained taping a fresh piece of gauze over the stitches. She stole a glance up at him, as he looked down at her with a dangerous, sexy smirk. He never moved an inch or winced at her touch. "Thank you." He said gruffly, standing to his feet, and she grabbed him suddenly, helping to steady him while he gathered his strength. "Alpha let me....." Micha jumped toward him but he held up his hand. "Don't. I'm okay. Will you give us a second?" Axton asked her as she forced herself to let go of him and slowly walked out.
He was still looking in her direction when Micha cleared his throat. "Axton...." "You took a hell of a chance." "I'm sorry but I didn't have a choice. You needed help. Help that I knew I couldn't give you." Now Axton looked at him. "You could've put us both in danger. You could've very well put the entire pack in danger. He glared at Micha, who folded his arms across his chest. "What was I supposed to do?"
"Axton I brought you to her because I wanted to keep you alive. You can't seriously be mad because of that. Are you gonna say you can't feel something from her? Something strong that maybe she doesn't even realize yet?? I saw the way you looked at her Axton." The Alpha growled lowly but Micha continued. "Just like you can't lie and say that you didn't feel something when she touched you." Micha stood in front of him, the way a dad would his son. "No." Axton lied. "Lier. Don't bullsh......" They both jumped suddenly as she screamed from the other room as they both ran as fast as they could toward her. Micha put an arm in front of him as they stopped just short of the office door. A Rogue stood over her, now unconscious body. Axton looked down at her but finally felt her heartbeat. It was slow, but even.
The Rogue wolf stood drooling, slobber falling onto her arms by her head. Axton started towards him, but Micha stopped him. "You're still too weak, and so is your wolf." "Micha...." They both stopped suddenly as the Rogue fell to the floor in a dead heap. A blade in her hand, dripping with blood from the stab wound to the wolf. "Kadence are you okay?" Micha asked touching her face gently. "Yea....just a little....dizzy." She held the side of her head, trying to get it to settle. "You're bleeding. Here let me." Axton took a small towel and gently pressed it to her head.
Kadence grimaced, she didn't know if it was from the wound itself or the pure heat from his touch. He reeked of pure sexiness and it was all too much for her. Blackness swelled around her, as she felt herself fall. His hands grabbed her suddenly holding her tight against him.************
Axton was struck by her, when his hand touched her skin it was like fire shooting through him. His mate. She was the one that saved him, but did she know? He wasn't sure. "Kadence are you okay?" Axton looked at Micha, then quickly back to her as her pain suddenly hit him. He could feel her heartbeat pick up and knew she was on the verge of collapsing. "Yea....just a little.....dizzy." Her voice wavered and it was all he could do to keep himself upright. He hated seeing her hurt and he wanted to help her no matter if he was hurt or not. "You're bleeding...Here let me." Axton said softly, picking up a small towel and pressing it gently to her head. The instant his fingertips touched her skin again, it was back. The heat shot through him and he all but groaned. He watched as her eyes rolled back, and he felt it as the blackness took her. Axton grabbed her suddenly pulling her against his chest, and rubbing her hair gently, when he looked up at Micha, he couldn't help but smile.
