My Opinion:
In my AU, Steven is 30-40 and Peter is in his 20's. I don't think they would be a good match with that age gap.
When Peter was alive he was married, so he's still technically married. So that if he were to date Steven, it would be cheating to him.
Fax:
Peter was married
Steven had a family, presuming he's dead and older than Peter
Steven has kids

If you ship them, I don't care. I don't, and you won't change my mind.
