Dear Readers,

Anyone who follows my work knows my promise - None of the Five Fireflies shall die on my watch. I'll play off of Lindsey's heart condition, Stevie's penchant for pneumonia and her addictions, John's alcoholism and cancer, Mick's debauchery...but no deaths in Fleetwood Mac shall be in my world. Any life-threatening events, real or made up, are vehicles for the action of a story and not to be worried about.

That said...

I am sure that in real life, Kristen Messner Buckingham is a nice lady and mentally stable. As a person who wants Stevie and Lindsey together, I do resent her, which is why I demonize her in my stories.

This is her biggest demonization yet.

Regular readers may note that I have a preoccupation with Fleetwood Mac celebrating Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday and, as I type this, it's tomorrow where I live. That's not why I do that. I just always think upon the November 30, 1997 performance of "Silver Springs", the footage where Stevie has to get Lindsey to finish the song and they're both crying and her shawl becomes a security blanket of sorts to both of them as they embrace and the audience cheers. Do the math and you'll realize why they are crying, as William Gregory Buckingham was born in July 1998. It was during the Thanksgiving holiday week in 1997 that Stevie and Lindsey are rumored to have found out about Kristen's pregnancy, and decided to break up for the last time. It's heartbreaking.

When I made Kristen pregnant in this story I fudged the conception date to late March; I originally planned on having Stevie and Lindsey separate in this story and have him run drunkenly to Kristen and make a one-night mistake...but I couldn't. Just as I can't kill any of them off, I can't write either of these characters being unfaithful to each other...even though they are constantly being unfaithful WITH each other to the bevy of other lovers of the times such as Carol Ann Harris, Jimmy Iovine, Joe Walsh, Cheri Caspari...and of course...Kristen.

Things are going to get dark for awhile here. Kristen's threats are not idle and I wanted to wish you fair warning...but stick around for the payoff...you know I always end with Stevie and Lindsey cuddled up in bed with whatever dog is alive at the time, because that's how I see them - two soul mates and a little dog curled up together against the cold, cruel world, just as they were in Keith Olsen's basement in the very beginning.

Thank you so much for reading and voting and for your comments! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Much love,
Linda <3
