*** 3rd person POV
(Y/n) remained on bed rest for a while. Her dad was really worried about her because that night was really traumatic for everyone that was there. Bruce couldn't even find Jason's body after the blast, but he had hoped that he would make it out in time if he had planned the whole thing. Though (Y/n) being on bedrest made Tim talk to her more which she loved because she had always wanted to get closer to her older brother whom she never really got to see. Their schedules made them avoid each other, but now that she was stuck at home, she could see him all the time. Her being down for the count even made Dick stick around longer since Batman was down a partner. He felt really bad that his little sister was caught in an explosion so young, but then he laughed it off and said that she just attracted them because it was her third explosion she'd been in. (Y/n) felt all warm and fuzzy now that her family would pay more attention to her since she used to be the ghost of the family. Just one person was missing, Jason. She wanted to see her brother so badly, but Bruce didn't have the heart to tell her that he couldn't find him, again. He didn't want to break her heart again, now that it was already so fragile and previously shattered. Though, while she would be asleep and Bruce and Dick would be out on nightly patrol, someone would sneak up to (Y/n)'s window and drop off things through her window. (Y/n) would see these letters right when she would wake up because they stuck out the window that she looked out of every morning. When she saw the first letter she secretly got up to grab it, though that was when she felt her leg and how injured it was and immediately sat back down which hurt a little with her tailbone. Though when she saw the letter and it had her nickname on it, which everyone in the family, minus Alfred, had adopted, she had only a few guesses who it was. She figured it was one of her three brothers, because who else would it be? She opened it and when she opened it, everything was written in red ink. That immediately gave it away as to who it was. She opened it and started reading the letter faster.
The letter said, "Dear (Y/n/n) I know I disappeared and you wanted to see me longer, but you deserve to know why I did that and why I left again." That line again. It definitely confirmed it was her own brother, Jason, writing to her. He loved to tell her that she deserved to know something which was always nice to hear sometimes. The letter continues with, "Look, me and Bruce aren't on very good terms so don't expect me to appear by the manor any time soon, but I will try to contact you as much as I can since I really miss you, and I feel really bad for abandoning you for so long. You didn't deserve all of that after all that you've told me for being alone in that big manor and being a ghost. I hope you're feeling better and didn't get too hurt from the blast. Now get better fast so we can meet up soon, and if you want to write back to me, slip your letter in the same window, but when Alfred's not looking. Love you, Lil sis. -J". (Y/n) felt all warm and fuzzy inside all over and wished she could actually get up to grab letter-writing supplies and write. She tried to get up right when her dad walked in so she kind of made a whole scene. He was first appalled that his daughter got up, knowing very well how badly injured she is. Then she tried to advance him, but he caught her in his arms and set her back in bed. She felt defeated, but when he asked her what she wanted so badly that made her get out of bed and risk her stitches in her leg to open up, she admitted she wanted to write a letter to someone. Bruce was confused and asked who it would be addressed to, but she just told him that it was a surprise. He couldn't say no at all because he loved his daughter, and thought that her wanting to write a letter was absolutely adorable, and got her the supplies for her. So (Y/n) got to work writing Jason a response letter and snuck it in her window for Jason to snag whenever he would be back again. She never saw him, but she knew he was there because when she woke up the next morning a letter would be gone and replaced by a new one the morning after. This went on for a while until (Y/n) was back on her feet, every injury, including her tailbone, healed and ready for action. Though Bruce demanded that she not go against people like The Riddler or Bane for a long while so everything heals properly, it was still nice for her to get out of bed and move around more than just in the manor.
[tab]Some nights though, (Y/n) was to stay home and catch up on her homework, and sometimes Dick would stay too and help her. She does admit that was one of her favorite memories, besides all the ones she has with Jason, not including that night. Dick was incredibly good at math which was really helpful for her and she finally got caught up so she could go back to school again. Though (Y/n) was busy with her day-to-day life, someone else was busy in prison. Soon, all over the news they had, it was just "Joker escapes Arkham through an escape tunnel" or "Joker escaped once more". (Y/n) was oblivious to the news, even though she should always keep up with it since she was working with the world's greatest detective. Though she had nothing to fear because Batman was on the case and had already found him in a new abandoned candy factory on the Far East side of Gotham. He fought with him and he heard his sickening laughter that was followed by a monologue. Somehow he spaced Batman's grip and escaped, but not before leaving something behind for the caped crusader to find. A letter. In just a simple white envelope with black ink on the front, addressing who the letter was for. On the back, it was sealed with yellow wax with a bat in the middle. Batman was unsure how he even got this kind of stuff in Arkham Asylum, but here it was in his hands. On the front, it was addressed to "Little Batgirl". On the back under the seal, it had a little message on it. It said, "You're next."
The end!
