Chapter 1

P.O.V. Helena

I start a day like any other, a day with suspicious looks and mean words, except today is the day the school master comes to kidnap 2 children, everyone says that this year it's me and Tiffany who are going to be taken.

Tiffany is the daughter of one of the oldest, she is a two-faced person who seems super kind and polite in front of people but when they turned their backs she bad mouths even her ancestors and future children. But ironically everyone says that she is the princess who goes to the School for Good and I am the witch who goes to the School of Evil. To be sincere, I don't care what school I go to, I just want to get out of this damn village that only knows how to criticize everyone who doesn't fit their standards.

For a moment I was reminded of Callis and Agatha, a mother-daughter duo who live in Gavaldon's cemetery, the villagers also call them witches, although Agatha is the same age as Sophie and Callis is the village doctor, maybe that's because of the supposed potions she makes, but they should be more grateful since she makes them for them.

Returning to the main point, I was going to the Gavaldon library as the only thing in this village that brings me peace and quiet is reading and Sra. Deauville, the owner, is a very nice person.I was getting to the library when I heard screams.

"Mom, the witch has returned"

"Run, or she'll curse us"

"Run, she looked over here"

It's always been like this, whenever I try to go unnoticed, some children start screaming when they see me, I'm sure a mother will come and complain because her son felt sick and it's my fault because I looked at him.

After entering the library, I found Sra. Deauville on the counter.

"Good morning, Sra. Deauville"

"Good morning, honey" she says with a fond smile "No new books have arrived yet but I have some old versions if you want to check them out."

I accept because, to be honest, there aren't many books I haven't read, but my favorites are fairy tales, because they give me hope to find a happy ending far from here. I end up choosing the Little Mermaid, who is said to have been a girl from Gavaldon who was taken nearly half a decade ago named Anya.

When I go out I find the last person I wanted to see, I try to pass by and ignore them, but as usual it doesn't work.

"Helena dear, won't you greet us?"

"Good morning mom, good morning Sophie" I say wanting to get out of this situation as soon as possible

"Your sister and I came to say goodbye since you're leaving tonight" she says with a smile so satisfied it looks like she can't wait to see you disappear.

"You're not sure if I'll be taken"

"Of course, you'll be taken to be a villain and Tiffany will be taken to be a princess, you should have gotten used to the idea by now."

I just silently agree so I can finally walk away until I hear my sister scream.

"Mom, I want that book." she says pointing at me.

"You heard your sister Helena, why don't you give her the book?" it seems like an innocent question but you can tell by her face that it's an order, but I'm not going to give her the satisfaction.

"I'm sure the library has many more books that Sophie will love." after that I ran as far away from them as possible, but I still had time to hear them scream.

After that the day passed normally and when I realized it was already dusk. On the one hand, I was afraid of being chosen, but on the other hand, I had hope, hope of leaving this village, no matter what school I attended.

To make the time pass faster I started reading the book I picked up in the morning, I didn't realize how much time passed before I felt watched, when I looked out I thought I saw a pair of red eyes and curious as I left the house to find out what was. The pair of eyes seemed to disappear and I was ready to go home until I felt something grab my ankle and when I realized I was being pull through the woods by a shadow.

She only stopped when we reached a clearing, I thought it was over until I heard screams and the same shadow dragged Tiffany and left her there.

"What happened?" she screamed desperately " It's your work right, I order you to take me back"

I was ready to answer it until I heard what sounded like wings flapping and the next thing I knew I was being grabbed by a bird made of bones, unfortunately Tiffany was grabbed as well.

I was already fed up with hearing their screams and I couldn't control myself.

"Calm down, screaming won't do any good, we must be being taken to the School for Good and Evil."

"What, you understand being transported in these conditions but I'm a future princess, I should be transported with more class." she says haughtily until she looks straight ahead and squeals with a surprised face "Look"

When I looked where she was pointing, I could see two schools, one dark and gloomy, the other bright and majestic, with a huge tower in the center. As we flew over the schools we passed School for Good first and when I was waiting for the bird to drop Tiffany I felt myself fall and the last thing I heard before passing out was a scream.

"It should have been me stupid bird"

The romance will not start now because Helena is still a child, it will only start when Sophie and Agatha go to school.
