I smiled at the man next to me who was completely oblivious to knowing he was in the hands of one of the deadliest people. "How about we get out of here?" I whispered in his ear, leading him outside, which he followed.
Once outside I breathed in the fresh air and was glad to be out of the stench of old beer and sweat.
The guy beside me laughed when I led him down an alley. "Where we goin' little lady."
"Just to my car." I hummed.
Once far enough away from people who would likely be suspects, I gave my brother our signal and my brother shot him down.
The guy beside me, now dead, lay on the ground blood dripping down his face. I searched him for any valuables before leaving him dead in the alley.
"I hate when you act like that, it's annoying." my brother scoffed. I slapped him on the arm causing him to yell out and be dramatic.
"How else do you expect to get him to leave? Come on, we have to get our money." I muttered, looking around one last time before leaving the place.
Milan, Italy just called out rich walking around. There were big buildings everywhere you looked and it felt like you were walking in circles because everything looked the same.
I stopped when I heard something causing my brother to stop also. "What?" he questioned his accent thick. He was tired. His accent was never this emphasized unless he was on the brink of falling asleep, which by the looks of it looked so.
"Nothing, I thought I heard something. I think I'm just paranoid." I hesitated.
I wasn't being paranoid, there was something in the shadows following us and has been for the past few minutes.
I continued on until the shadow got too much, I pulled out my gun and shot the person in the shadows. My brother pulled out his gun, waiting for me.
"What the fuck was that!" he yelled but still followed after me.
Ignoring him, I walked towards the area I shot and more people started coming around us. I counted 4, all men. Small men at that though. "Oh." was all Enzo said.
"Can we help y'all?" I asked, faking a southern accent.
"Don't fake it Madame Rouge." one said, pulling out his gun, the others following. I couldn't hide the smirk off my face when he'd said the name on the news.
"We just want to talk." said another one. "An offer."
"Last time I did an offer with someone I was almost killed. I'll pass." I answered, backing away slowly.
I looked around, still only seeing the four men in front of us. Enzo and I could easily take them without a problem, it was just that I didn't know if there were more men hiding and I didn't want to take that risk.
"Just listen-"
Before I could listen though, someone fired a gun which caused me to duck missing my head by just an inch. "Shit!" I yelled and my brother and I took cover.
There were people shooting all around, definitely not just the four who were talking.
I got my gun out and started shooting at the first four men who were still standing there, just shooting at us. They all went down and now we had to find whoever was hiding.
It wasn't long until we found them because of Enzo. His vision was the best out of both of us and I had the best hearing. That was one reason we worked so well as a team.
Soon Enzo shot down the last man and we both met up not injured. "Search them," I said, waving my hand around the bodies. He knew what I meant, search for any tattoos that could give us clues as to who this was.
He was pulling their shirts up and flipping their bodies, searching for any signs. When he was done I dragged them out of sight to another alley, at least giving us enough time to leave the area before the bodies were found.
We've been here not even a week and already causing trouble. My brother started helping me with the bodies after he had searched all of the men. "It was the Italian Mafia, the Lorenzo's. I'm sure of it. Their tattoos match and I've seen them before in a fight in a bar, it's Lorenzo's men."
"Why do you think they're after us? We have done nothing to their people, we haven't gone after them." I asked wiping the blood off of my hands.
"I don't know, but we need to get our money and leave before we cause more of a scene." he pointed out our bloody clothes and I nodded following after him.
After we collected our money, $20,000 dollars, we drove to our assigned house. It was in the rich part of the neighborhood so no one paid much attention but to themselves. It was currently two in the morning so most people were also asleep which would be good for when Enzo and I needed to slip into the house.
"What are we doing after this?" Enzo asked when we entered the house.
I shook my head heading towards the stairs, "I don't know yet, we'll figure it out in the morning."
I went to my room which was across from my brother's and went straight to my bathroom. Ignoring my reflection, I stripped my clothes and threw them in the hamper before getting into the shower.
The water was a cool temperature and it helped me cool off along with getting all of the dirt and blood out of my skin. I did my normal routine of washing and also shaving while I was at it.
Today was a good day, we made some good money. Besides getting jumped everything went to plan today and we would most likely take a break day tomorrow just to get some rest.
After my shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and went into my room to change. I put on some boxers and one of my brother's hoodies. It was large on me but I didn't care, it was only to sleep in. I brushed my hair and brushed my teeth before laying down in bed scrolling on my phone.
I placed my phone down and I was asleep within seconds.
