She stormed down her steps, through the palace halls and through the courtyard to where he was waiting.
"What in hell are you doing here?" She said, hands on hips to give a full boss effect. "Woah, thats a naughty word, not very lady like." Percivil smirked. Prince Percivil of Auncora was Andromeda's rival. It wasn't exactly anything they had done to each other, but more their parents mistakes. The kingdom's had been fighting for hundreds of years. Over land, crops, money, resources, and much more.
So naturally, the two had grown up hating each other. Although, it didn't stop them from hanging out tons and messing with each other.
"I don't exactly care now do I?" She responded. "Was it you in there earlier as well?" She questioned. He held his hands up in defense and smiled. "How'd you know?" She scoffed. "You sure are arrogant."
"Oh and your stupid suitor isn't?"
"Stephan has... ideas okay? He knows what he wants and how to get it I suppose." She said, trying to make it seem like she was okay with what happened earlier.
Percivil looked down. The sun was setting and the light shimmered on his face, lighting up his green eyes. She had to admit, he was attractive. Black hair, tan skin, and green eyes. Many women sought his hand. They definitely also were attracted to Stephan witch honestly wasn't surprising because his true colors rarely showed.
"I saw what he did earlier. He's awful why are you even marrying him?"
Andromeda laughed. "I don't exactly have a choice."
"You always have a choice okay? I mean, I could help." He said smiling.
"I don't need your help. I'm handling it all fine. Plus, why do you care? You hate me." She laughed.
"Hate you? No. Our parents hate each other. I just happen to dislike you strongly." Percivil grinned.
She laughed and they messed with each other as they did often. She really did enjoy talking with him, but she wasn't exactly allowed. Hours passed, it got dark and they chased each other through the woods. They got to a creek and splashed and yelled. It was fun. Eventually they calmed down and sat.
Water trickling and the sounds of the forest were quite comforting. They just sat, talked, abd argued as they had done since they were young.
"When do you get married?" Percivil asked somewhat solemnly.
"You almost sound sad." Andromeda said, wringing out her soaked dress.
"You wish." He laughed. "I have about 3 days." She sighed, staring at the ground. "Can't you say no?" He asked. "You know how many times we've been over this? I have zero choice. I'm getting married and dying with Stephan whether I like it or not."
"What if, you ran away? I know this ship, you can get on and you'd make it-" he didn't finish. Slight tears flooded her eyes. "I wont make it you know. Not alone, i'm not strong..." her voice broke.
He sighed. They said their goodbyes and parted ways.
She went home, and undressed. She walked into the bathroom and filled her tub to the brim with warm water and bubbles. She slipped in and dumped water over her face. This was her favorite way to clear her head. She thought about sneaking out, it would get her away from so much.
She thought about Percivil. She didn't exactly care, but at the same time she did. It didn't exactly make sense, but thats how she felt. She dunked, washing the soap off her. She held her breath and closed her eyes, appreciating the peace. Then her lungs started demanding air and she came up.
She stepped out of the tub, dried off, dressed, and went to bed.
