"if anybody out there got a secret they wanna share on why it does to her what it does to dust."
Wonderin' Bout the Wind by Morgan Wallen
(constance's p.o.v)"now ambrose, what on earth are you doing?" i ask, getting up from the sofa.
"your friends are outside, i'm letting them in." my brother says, walking to the front door.
my friends walk in, francesca and loretta with alexander and rhodes following behind them.
"ah, my lovely friends, welcome." i smile, hugging each one of them.
"thank you for inviting us constance." alexander says.
"it was my pleasure. we haven't had anything nice to do in ages."
"i'm heading to the lords, if you need me then telegram me." tewksbury waves, leaving the estate.
"i have tea, biscuits, and we can talk about our days." i say, walking into the kitchen bringing out the food and tea.
"thank you constance." rhodes smiles.
we all sit down on the sofa's, conversing about our days and having fun.
(tewksbury's p.o.v)
i walk down the street, minding my own business. i see a girl, looking similar to enola holmes, having a bite of breakfast. she was leaning against the railing beside the lake, looking out over the woods. i brush it off and keep walking to the house of the lords to fulfill my duties as marquess.
(constance's p.o.v)
"i had a wonderful day. thank you so much for coming over and having a cup of tea with me." i smile as the four walk out of the door.
"my pleasure." they all state in unison.
i wait about ten minutes after they left before going out on a walk. after walking about four miles into town, i notice a man following a young girl. i walk up beside her.
"are you alright, do you know why he is following you?" i whisper into her ear.
"constance?" the girl turns to me. i notice that it is the infamous enola holmes.
"enola? it's wonderful to see you here, but we must go." i usher her up the street. after crossing, we get stopped by a man who just got thrown out of a bar.
"be away with you, boy." the man who was thrown groans and stands up, attempting to keep his balance.
"sherlock?" enola and i ask in unison.
"constance, enola, what are you doing here? it's not safe, there are scary people about." he asks, leaning down to pick up his walking cane.
"yes, let me know when you meet one." i say, watching him struggle to get back up.
"brother, are you quite yourself?"
"i'm fine. it was just a disagreement over a glass of wine, and who's wine it was. and, uh, i find it after wine, it is very difficult to make your arms and your legs move." he starts to fall forward. i catch him from the front and enola grabs him from the side.
"let's get you home." enola grunts.
"i'm on a case, you see and it is proven rather tricky." he slurs.
"cab!" i call, waving my hand out.
"hello!" we all call in unison.
"where are we going?" the cab driver asks.
i look over to enola who quickly gives the address.
"221 baker street."
"as it turns out, your brother is medievally heavy." i groan, dragging him up to 221 baker street A.
"that's A. i am B." he points.
"i didn't know you had steps." enola whines.
"one should always have steps, to avoid people stepping on you. that's a tip. you should probably write that down." he says drunkenly.
"i got this enola, go get the door." i say as she walks up the stairs to his flat. "alright. lift your right leg. now your left."
"better leg, the left. you should write that down."
i scoff and help him up the rest of the steps painstakingly. we meet enola standing at the door. i help sherlock over to the sofa.
"hah. home. well done sherlock." he throws his cane down, making a glass shatter.
enola walks over and tries to take his jacket off for him.
"i can do it!" he snaps, pulling it off of him and throwing it on the floor. "see?"
i walk over to the window seat and kick my feet up, looking over at the now lying down sherlock.
"baker street." enola says under her breath after lighting a candle. "oh but it's such a mess."
"it's perfect. don't touch anything."
"what are you investigating sherlock?" i ask, pulling one of his pipes out from under me and placing it in my mouth, lighting it with a match found on the floor.
"it's none of your business, constance. i work alone, it's private. now shh i'm thinking. one should never be interrupted when thinking. you should-"
"write that down?" enola sticks a pipe she found in her mouth without lighting it. she sets down the candle, which makes a loud clanging noise.
"shh!"
