"Upupu... round and round it goes, where it stops, NOBODY KNOWS!!!"
"Papa, did we really have to get such a big wheel? It's so hard to spin..."
"Just shut up and spin it, kids. Haven't you been looking forward to this? Aren't your legs shaking with anticipation? Upu, is your sweat sweet with excitement?!"
"OH WOW!!! Monophanie's sweat IS sweet!"
"Ew, don't lick me Monokid!!"
"SHUT UP YOU DOLTS, and spin my FUCKING wheel!! I can't wait any longer, upupupu...!"

Komaru Naegi fell to her knees, gasping for breath. She clutched at her collar, tugging on it as if to try to allow more air into her lungs. 'Wh-where am I...?' she thought, glancing around wildly at her surroundings. She did not recognize this place at all; it was a long dark hallway with glowing blue pillars lining the walls.
"Huh...?" Komaru approached the section of wall immediately behind her, which looked like a pillar had once been there but was now missing. "Did... did I come from there?"
A loud hissing noise sounded nearby, making Komaru jump. She whirled around to see a pillar across from her flash the word 'Thawing' across its front before it split down the middle, disappearing into the wall behind. Where the pillar had been there stood a figure, which collapsed onto the floor.
Komaru, ignoring her better judgement, immediately approached the figure and knelt down, asking "Are you okay?" as she neared.
The figure — another girl, with long blue hair and circle-rimmed glasses looked up to Komaru, breathing heavily. "I... I think so... where am I? Who are you?"
Komaru looked around. "I'm Komaru Naegi, and as for where we are... well, I don't exactly know."
"I see..." the other girl muttered, accepting Komaru's help up. She began brushing herself off before remembering to introduce herself. "My name is Tsumugi Shirogane. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Ms. Naegi. Although I wish it were under better circumstances..."
Komaru nodded in agreement. "Well, I guess we can't do anything about that. Should we look for a way out? Or wait for the rest of these cylinder things to spit people up?"
Tsumugi glanced up and down the long hallway. "You think there's someone in all of these?" Komaru merely shrugged in response. "Well... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to look for an exit. That way we can help everyone out as they... thaw!"
The two girls nodded at each other, and began walking down the hallway. They had only taken a few steps when a shrill, ear-piercing sound emitted seemingly from nowhere.
"Upupupu! There are no exits, girlies!" a voice rang out from nothingness. "You're trapped here and the only way you'll be leaving is if you win!"
"W-win what!?" Tsumugi yelled, looking around for the source of the voice to no avail.
"This exciting killing game, of course!" the voice answered gleefully. "Be the last one standing and you're welcome to leave!"
Komaru's eyes widened in terror. "K-killing game...!?"
"That's right!" the voice confirmed. "Killing game, battle royale, murder party... whatever ya wanna call it... you're in it now, upu~!"
"I-I'm not gonna kill anyone!" Komaru shouted, eyes shut tightly. Maybe this was just a nightmare and she'd wake up at any moment now.
"That's your prerogative..." the voice answered slyly, "but just because you're too weak-willed to end a life doesn't mean that others are too."
The girls had been too preoccupied with this new evil voice to notice that another column had opened up behind them...
"Nothin' personal ladies, but I gotta get outta here, y'see?"
Komaru and Tsumugi both turned to see a tall, intimidating man in a with very unusually-styled pompadour. He cracked his knuckles and slowly began approaching them.
Without a word, Komaru grabbed Tsumugi's hand and began running in the opposite direction.
"So you're gonna make this difficult, eh?" the man shouted after them, beginning to run as well. "Looks like I'm gonna have to make it hurt, then!"
"He's faster than us, he's faster than us!" Tsumugi panicked. "We've got to go faster- oh—!"
Komaru's grip on Tsumugi's hand loosened and they lost contact entirely as Tsumugi tripped and tumbled awkwardly face-first into one of the pillars. Komaru heard a sickening crack as the other girl's neck snapped and her limp body fell to the floor.
"NOO!!!" Komaru screamed. She didn't stop running. She knew Tsumugi was dead. What would be the point? The man would just catch up and kill Komaru too. So she kept running. She couldn't see where she was going; tears of grief and terror clouded her vision. She ran and ran and ran until she couldn't anymore, and collapsed into an exhausted heap.
Something felt off, though. The floor wasn't hard and cold like she expected. It was soft and mushy, and the air smelled fresh here. Komaru looked up slowly. She was no longer in the building that she woke up in. She was now in the middle of a lush jungle.
"Wh... what the fuck?"
—————
"We're off to a great start, Papa! Someone's already dead!"
"See, kids? I told you it would be fun!"
"Daaad, Monokid's still licking me!"
"It's not my fault you taste so good!"
"Quit licking your sister, dumbass. It's weird. Anyways, spin the wheel again already! I wanna see who's next..."
