The rain was still falling when the four reached the mansion.  By now they were soaking wet.  Their clothes were ruined, and they would most likely have to stay in them for the whole visit.

The four were then at the mansion of Brooke.  Apparently the host had been waiting for her arrivals, because she was standing in the doorway of one of the double-doors.  She was smiling and waving to them.

Brooke was wearing a white skirt that came just above her knees, a lovely, new, white blouse, and black flats.  This was her normal outfit most of the time.  She had her hair down, except for a side section that was pulled into a braid and lay on her back.

"Come in!  Come in!" the host greeted.  She smiled and, even though they were drenched with rain, gave them each a warm hug.

            "Hullo, Brooke!" greeted Hannah.

            "Hullo," everyone else said.

They were rather wet and uncomfortable in their attire.  In fact, after they had all said hullo and what not, Brooke said,

"I say!  You do look like you each could use a change of clothes.  Please, follow me.  And don't worry about getting anything wet."

The four followed Brooke deeper into the mansion after the door was quietly shut.  They were taken down a hallway that led into the dining room.  Then, they went up a flight of stairs; another hall followed; and at last they were standing in front of a changing room.  The changing room had five changing stalls.  It was a cozy room.  It had heat in it, which made the wet guests very pleased.  The walls were white and smooth.  The floor with tiled with white and black.  The stalls were the same color as the walls.

Presently, Brooke excused herself from the group.  Moments later she returned holding some different attire over her arm.  After each had chosen different outfits, the four entered into different stalls.  After they did so, Brooke called from the doorway and told her guests that she would be downstairs preparing a hot beverage for everyone to drink.

Edmund was the first person done undressing and then dressing again with his new, dry clothes on.  He was wearing a light blue shirt, a brown belt, and black pants.  Everything fit him perfectly.  In truth, he felt as if he had seen these clothes before.  But he couldn't be certain.

"I'm done," Edmund said, still standing in his changing stall.

"I'm almost!" called Veronica who was in the stall to his right.

"Same!" agreed the other two.

Finally, everyone was done, and they all exited their changing rooms.  Hannah was the first to get out.  Under her one arm, she was carrying her wet clothes.  She was sporting a light blue sweater and black pants—though they looked much different from Edmund's.

Veronica was wearing a light red blouse and a black skirt.  Her hair was done and already dry.

Elizabeth was wearing a very light blue blouse and black pants that resembled Hannah's.

"You all look wonderful," commented Edmund with a smile.

"Thank you.  As you do," Elizabeth smiled cheerfully like she always did.

"Well, let's go downstairs; shall we?" suggested Veronica.

"Wait!" said Hannah rather suddenly.

"What's wrong?" asked Edmund, puzzled.

"Well," she began to explain, "when are we going to ask if we can dig up the rings?  I mean, it's raining outside and I don't think we should get these new clothes wet!"
