There are gonna be these prologues that basically tell the basic lore of the universe they live in, I might be too lazy to finish it all

At the top of this society lies the gods. This is an entirely different status chart from the general one, but is important to the story.
At the bottom, there are demi gods and offspring of Gods. These are the least powerful of the Gods. The main character is in this tier, however he has a reputation of killing higher Gods when instructed.
Above the demi gods and offspring are Gods. There are a set number of Gods, each having roles given to them by the Higher Gods. The main character's parents are in this tier, his father being the God of Death, and his mother being the Goddess of the Present. Due to their statuses, the main character takes up the role of mortals Time of Death, killing only who he's instructed to.
Higher Gods are above the gods. There are only three of them, The Higher God of Life, The Higher God of Death, and The Higher God of Balance. They keep the universe together, without them, the universe would collapse.
And finally, above the Higher Gods is the Creator. Creator made the universe. None of the gods know what they look like or why they made the universe exist.

The General society runs based off power level and risk of life. Those who are powerful but have the highest risk of being targeted would not lost, however if they are powerful but are least likely to be targeted.
Power is not specifically one thing in this universe. It could be magic, popularity, or money. It depends on the area.
