Muffled noises of the past filled the room. A boy, trembling in the corner, quickly realizes what's happening. He shuts his eyes, praying it will end soon. One voice grew louder and louder, the voice of his mother. This caused him to shake more, hiding his head from the outside. Tears started to stream down his face, until a sharp pain was felt on his arm...
...
He bolted awake. His orange hair was a mess, and his body shaking violently as he kept crying. He reached for his phone, managing to call someone.
Ring....
Ring...
Ring..
Click.
"Hello?" A tired and groggy voice said from the other line.
"Timbits?" The boy's voice was shaky and weak.
"..." Silence, "... I'm on my way."
Click.
The boy set down his phone. Hugging his knees as he waited for his friend to arrive. It didn't take long before a knock could be heard on his bedroom door.
"Chime?"
"Come in..."
The door creaked open as Timber slipped in. His eyes and amulet glowing in the dark as he moved closer to Chime. Chime looked up at him, quickly hugging him once he was close enough, startling the boy. Timber didn't say anything, as this wasn't the first time this happened. He adjusted himself so he could comfortably sit as Chime held him. No words needed to be said at this point, Chime's shaking had calmed down, and both of them were close to falling back to sleep. Soon both would slip into slumber, till the morning.
...
...
Beep! Beep!
Beep! Be-
Chime, slightly annoyed by his alarm, nearly threw his phone across the room. He sighed, sitting up before waking up Timber. Both the boy's quickly got up to get ready for school, Chime gathering his stuff and brushing his hair as Timber went back to his place to get himself ready. Chime knew Timber would bring him some food, as he always does. Even though the boys are very close, Timber doesn't trust Chime to eat by himself. He has good intentions, but sometimes it gets annoying.
Grabbing his keys, Chime left the house, Timber waiting near his bike. He perked up seeing Chime come out, hopping a little as Chime walked over. He handed him some food before jumping on the bike. Chime put it in his backpack before getting the bike ready. He passed Timber a helmet and put on his own, stuffing his hair inside it. Starting the bike, off they went to school, Chime secretly praying it'll be a normal day for once.
