Ian awoke to the sound of his cell phone ringing. He blinked a couple of times before reaching over for his phone.
"Hello?"
"Ian! It's Candice!"
"Hey, is everything okay?"
"No, everything is NOT okay! I tried calling you five times!" Candice yelled. He could tell she had been crying.
"Whoa, what happened?" Ian asked worriedly as he began sitting up.
Ian waited patiently for Candice to reply. After a couple if seconds, Candice replied.
"It's Nina. She was in an accident.."
Nina. In a accident.
Ian's heart stopped. He couldn't believe this was happening. His whole mind whirled with questions.
"What, what do you mean she was in a accident?!"
"Her car is totaled, Ian. It flipped upside down when another car rammed right into her." Candice explained. Her voice was trembling.
"What hospital is she at?" Ian asked; his voice slowly breaking.
"Atlanta General, Ian-"
"I'll be right there."
Ian hung up his phone, cutting Candice off, and ran to his car. His hands were shaking as he started the vehicle.
The only thought in his mind as he drove towards the hospital was,
