We pull into the Denny's parking lot. There weren't any open spots next to each other surprisingly, so we had to park on opposite ends of the lot.

When we all got out and grouped together, Travis and Cooper immediately ran for the door like starving children.

The rest followed, and obviously, we couldn't all fit in a booth together.

And of course, there weren't any booths next to eachother- kinda.

I was sat next to Travis, with only Ted and Cooper across from us.
Schlatt was sitting across from Charlie in a booth directly to out left.
Schlatt glanced over as he saw me staring at him and gave me a small smile and a wave.
I waved back, embarrassed I was staring at him like an idiot.

A waiter blocked my view of Schlatt as he stopped in front of our table, asking if we were ready to order.
We weren't, obviously, as we just sat down- but we ordered our drinks.
We all ordered something normal- like a water, a pepsi, coke- but we all stared as Ted asked for a beer.

I leaned forward as the waiter nodded and walked away.

"They sell beer?"
I asked.

"Yeah? Most restaurants do!"
He nodded.

"Should I not have ordered it?-"
He added.

"No, no! I was just curious- I mean, I wouldn't want to take my kids out for pancakes and seeing a drunk man losing his shit."
I snickered.

Ted giggled.
"Yeah, fair."
He nodded.

I grinned and leaned back.

The waiter came back with our drinks surprisingly fast.
He set them down, of course none of them in front of the right person, and walked off without giving us straws.

Travis started giggling as we all did a little drink shuffle.
I took a sip of my water as I listened in to the guys' conversation.
All noises sort of blended together as I focused on Schlatt.

He didn't catch me staring this time, but I would've rather preferred that.

A very pretty waitress stopped at their table, as I assumed she was taking their order.
I tried straining my ears and focusing on them, but I couldn't hear it over Cooper and Ted laughing loudly about something.

Something about the way Schlatt smiled at her made my stomach turn.
He's just being nice, probably, but why does my brother look so annoyed?
Charlie had a slight glare on his face as he looked at the two, as if he couldn't get a word in.

Schlatt and the girl were chatting back and forth, Schlatt putting his hand on hers for some fucking reason.

I don't know why, but I felt so much jealousy pool up inside of my stomach.
The jealousy mixing with me feeling bad about feeling jealous made me want to vomit.
Why was I upset? Schlatt barely knows him, and I barely know him. It's not like we're dating.

I couldn't wrap my head around why I was so upset.
Seeing the way he grinned at her and chuckled at her made me feel icky.
I don't have any feelings for Schlatt- I don't think I do, do I?

My mind went blank as he took a pen from her and started writing something down on a piece of napkin.
Probably his phone number.

I flinched unnecessarily hard as Travis gently nudged me with his arm.

"Hey man! Are you okay?"
He said as he leaned forward, his voice soft. The other two didn't pay any mind.

"Mhm! Im fine."
I gulped, nodding. I wasn't.

Travis's eyes softened. There was worry and love in them- not romantic love, though. The kind of love someone has for a family member or a close friend.
I felt myself relax.
