The vivid dreams were something I'd grown accustomed to, but there was something different about this dream. Granted it was the same as the other dreams. Just something was different. I was in my made-up world. Only it wasn't made up, it was all entirely real.

The trees started to come to life. Not in the way you may imagine. All the leaves are moving at the same time forming small whispers. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I caught a few words. " fire burn", " returned", " four people".

I don't know what's happening. But there was too much going on. Too many voices. I had to get out of here. But how do you escape a dream? You can only wake up. But I can't wake up. Something keeps me from escaping.

"Heartbreak", "Betrayed". "No... Stop..." "Sacrifice", "Nature". It continued as I cried out, "No... Stop... Leave me alone."

There was so much pressure on me as I dropped to my knees. I covered my ears trying to block out all the sounds and voices, but nothing was helping. The voices drowned out my whimpers and cries, which I couldn't hear.

Suddenly, the voices stopped and my vision slowly faded into black and I opened my eyes. I noticed I was in a different room than before and the guy who was in my fantasy was in front of me. I jumped up from the bed and ran to the other side of the room. "Who are you, and what do you want from me?" I say warily.

He started walking toward me with an arm outstretched. Looking beside me, I grabbed the biggest object I could find at the time. I don't know what a book is going to do, but we'll try it.

"Stay back, don't come any closer." He stepped back and moved his arm. The book went flying out of my hand. " Did you do that? No, there's no possible way you could have done that. Nobody can. It just slipped.", "Ivy, I need you to listen to me." "How do you know my name? Nobody knows me or has cared enough to know me. What do you guys want from me? Cause if it is for money, I sure don't have anything, I'm an orphan. I have no family, I have no friends, I have no money. I have nothing. No one is going to pay a ransom for me. I'm not even sure anyone knows or even cares that I am missing. So whatever it is you want, you're not going to get it from me."

"Ivy, listen, We didn't kidnap you. We saved you''

I looked at him confused. It didn't feel like a freedom situation. "It's a long story, just know I am not a threat." He said annoyed.

I looked at him, not knowing what I should do. Should I run? I can't do that, I don't know where I am going. Should I listen to him? I might as well, I have nowhere else to go.

"If I listen, can I leave?",

"If that is what you want, but I don't think you are going to want to leave after I explain everything to you."

"Fine, explain." I prepared myself to leave.

"Ivy, you are different from everyone else."

"What made you think that? The fact that I have no friends or the fact that someone tried to kill me because I wasn't like them? Or while everyone was busy playing with dolls, I was living in my little fantasy where I could control the trees and flowers. While everyone made friends, I was dreaming of a prince charming to take me away from the misery I felt at the orphanage. So if you are going to tell me every little way I'm different, I might as well leave.",

"Would you just shut up and listen? Maybe if you'd let me finish I would be able to finish. That little fantasy you had, wasn't a fantasy. It's real"

I laughed. "You're kidding right, 'cause I admit that was funny."

His face remains serious, with not an ounce of humor in his eyes.

"You're not joking. There is no way that is re-" I was interrupted by him raising his hands. " What are you doing?"

He didn't say a word and nothing was happening until I felt a draft. I looked around at the windows and no windows were open. The wind grew stronger and it was getting harder to stay upright.

"What's happening?" He still didn't answer.

I fell to my knees as the wind started becoming a high-pitched noise. It was unbearable and I yelled for it to stop. It continued and there was a pain in my chest as vines came and wrapped around the guy's arms like chains. The wind stopped and I looked up at him as he freed his hands.

"What was that?"

He looked at me. "We can control the elements. My power is air and yours is life or some call it earth.",

"I don't understand how this is possible, how have I not known?" "You don't start showing you have the powers until you are seventeen. Since today is your seventeenth birthday, you started showing what you can do."

"How did you know about me then? I just met you, actually, I don't know anything about you, not even your name.",

" My name is Jace and as for knowing about you, my dad knew your parents."

"M-my parents?",

" Yes, it was a tragedy hearing what happened to them.",

 "What happened to them?"

He looked at me, and his eyes softened for the first time since I met him

. "They died saving you from the darkness. My dad received a letter before they died saying they had a daughter and they gave you up so that you'd be safe from harm's way. They hoped you would escape from this life, but my dad knew he had to keep an eye on you from the person who killed your parents."

"So my parents gave me up because they wanted to keep me safe. Safe from what or who? Who killed them? I had so many questions but not enough time to ask.
