Chapter 1

"Kiana-chan..."
"I love you so much"
"I want to stay with you...a little longer"
"Please...don't ever leave me"

"Hah!" The girl gasped as she woke up and looked around
"I-I'm sorry for waking you up so suddenly, Meimei. I was worried about you" Her friend said
"H-himeko?" Mei asked rubbing her eyes
"Are you okay? You were mumbling stuff in your sleep" Himeko said
"U-uhm...yeah. Yeah I'm fine" Mei said as she got up from her desk
...these dreams won't stop...ugh...it's getting worse. It appears everytime I sleep...
"By the way that new girl has gotten really popular lately" Himeko said
"Huh? Oh...her" Mei said looking to the side
"...are you like this because of the new student?" Himeko asked
"What do you mean?" Mei asked
"Well...you've never behaved like this before. Also you're behaving more weirder than usual ever since she appeared" Himeko said
"That's not true" Mei said
"But you've been trying to avoid her. Everyday I see you walking away or going to a different direction where she's going. You're not...your usual self" Himeko said
"It's nothing" Mei said
"How do you want me to ignore it? You're my friend. We should be able to talk about everything. I'm worried, Meimei. Especially since...your fath-" Himeko paused as Mei got up and walked out of the classroom
"Ah! Meimei!" Himeko said as she followed her
"I understand that you're worried and I appreciate it but you're worrying too much. It's really nothing. Just mind your own business and ignore it" Mei said
"It's because you're acting odd. You're also barely able to focus on your work and you keep dozing off" Himeko said
"Will you stop?" Mei asked
"Why won't you admit it? Something is going on" Himeko said
"You need to quit-"

Mei trembled slightly as her heart started throbbing which meant that the girl was close by. She looked around the area trying to look for the girl
"Uhm Mei? Who are you looking for?" Himeko asked
"N-no one" Mei said
"It's Okogi-san right?" Himeko said and Mei only shook her head
"Meimei just...haaa" Himeko sighed
What is going on with her? Ever since the new student showed up, Meimei hasn't been herself. Is there a reason why? Do they know each other?
"Hey Yuzu. You should totally join us after school" A girl said
"Hm? After school? I'll have to ask my mom but I'm sure she'll say yes" Yuzu said walking beside a girl
"That's great! We'll have so much fun" The girl said wrapping an arm around Yuzu's neck
"Hahaha! Definitely" Yuzu said. Mei's eyes widened as she watched her walking with the girl in her arms. She didn't understand what feeling was growing inside but...it wasn't a nice feeling. Himeko shivered as she felt something coming from Mei and flinched as she noticed Mei's expression
"Uhm...Meimei your face u-uhm-"
"Oh wait! Hey Mei!" Yuzu said as she left the girl and dashed towards Mei. Mei jumped a bit as Yuzu wrapped her arms around her
"D-don't get cl-close to me..." Mei said and flinched slightly feeling Yuzu's breath against her ear
"Wait for me by the nurse's office after school. I need to talk to you..." Yuzu whispered and pulled away from Mei. She gave Mei a warm smile before running off
"Hey! No running!" Himeko said
"Sorry Momokino-san!" Yuzu said
"Tch...that girl seriously-hm? Meimei?" Himeko asked as she looked at how stunned Mei was. She looked at her and glanced over at the girl before it finally clicked
"...you like her?" Himeko asked
"Wh-what? No" Mei said looking away
"...you're lying. Your face says it all" Himeko said
"That's nonsense" Mei said
"...whatever you say, liar. What did she tell you anyway that made your face go like that?" Himeko asked
"She told me that she wanted to talk to me. That's all..." Mei said
"And are you going to meet up with her or avoid her again?" Himeko asked
"...quiet" Mei said and kept walking. Himeko followed her from behind and looked down
"Do you know her?" Himeko asked
"No. I've never seen her before and enough about her. I'm getting tired of you asking me questions. I'm feeling fine. I'm alright. So please...stop" Mei said
"Okay...sorry" Himeko said
Obviously you're not fine. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully Meimei gets better soon

After school, Mei got up from her seat grabbing her bag and rushed out of her classroom
"H-hey Meimei! Ugh...she's doing it again" Himeko said. Mei tried to leave without bumping into Yuzu. She tried to get out as soon as possible but paused as her chest throbbed
Tch! What's going on with my stupid body? Why am I like this? Just because of her?
"Hey Mei!" Yuzu called her out. Mei jumped hearing the girl and turned around seeing the girl again
"...why?" Mei mumbled and tried to run away heading towards the school doors. She got pass the other students but gasped as she spotted a certain man by the school gates
What is he doing here?!
"Ah Mei! Mei! Why were you ru-mm!" Yuzu's eyes widened as Mei covered her mouth and dragged her inside. The other students looked confused as they saw Mei walking away with Yuzu
"Be quiet" Mei said
"What's going on?" Yuzu asked looking confused
"...there's someone out there that I don't want to see" Mei said looking away
"I'm talking about you. Why were you running away from me? I thought you were going to meet me at the nurse's office" Yuzu said
"..." Mei remained quiet and looked away feeling nervous
...what should I do now? My father's out there waiting for me and I have to deal with her...
"Meimei! You're still here!" Himeko said and panted heavily as she finally caught up with her friend
"Hey Momokino-san" Yuzu said
"What happened to Meimei?" Himeko asked noticing Mei's expression
"She was running away from me but now she is trying to hide from someone she saw at the school entrance" Yuzu said
"...my father is here" Mei groaned
"Eh? Your dad?" Himeko asked
"I thought I told my grandfather to deal with him. Why is he here?" Mei said gritting her teeth
"Oh? You're having problems with your dad?" Yuzu asked
"...something like that. How am I supposed to leave without bumping into him?" Mei asked and Yuzu pulled out her sweater from her bag placing it on top of Mei
"Get on my back" Yuzu said
"Wh-what?" Mei asked
"Hop on my back. I'll carry you out" Yuzu said
"Won't it be suspicious?" Mei asked
"That's why Momokino-san will be a distraction. Your father must know her if you two are close friends right?" Yuzu said
"Actually...that could work. You two can leave while I tell your father that you already left" Himeko said
"...fine" Mei said
"Great. Let's go" Yuzu said. Mei got on Yuzu's back with her jacket on top of her and Yuzu carefully carried her out
"Himeko, I'll be going to your place" Mei said
"Got it" Himeko said and stepped out first. On her way out, she noticed the man who seemed to be looking around for his daughter
"Uhm...excuse me, Himeko" Sho said as he saw the girl walking out
"Huh? Mr. Aihara? You're here?" Himeko asked
"Y-yeah I got back a few days ago. Ahem...I-I'm sorry for bothering you Himeko but...have you seen Mei? I was hoping I could pick her up from school today" Sho said
"I'm sorry, Mr. Aihara but she left right away. I didn't know why she was in such a hurry and I tried to catch up to but I lost sight of her" Himeko said
"I see...she ran away. Well...thanks Himeko" Sho said as he smiled a little
"You're welcome sir" Himeko said, bowing down and walked away. Meanwhile Yuzu was walking with Mei heading towards her friend's place. Mei felt a slight comfort from the girl's body which made her have mixed emotions building up inside her
...why am I feeling like this when I'm with her? Ugh...it's giving me a headache...
"Hey Okogi! Okogi!" A girl said as she approached her and Mei immediately kept the jacket on herself trying to hide from them
"Hm? Oh hey there" Yuzu said as she turned to look at the two girls
"Weren't you going to join us?" The girl asked
"Yeah we're waiting for you" Her friend said
"Sorry but maybe not today. I'm actually quite busy with a friend of mine and she's feeling sick right now. Maybe next time okay?" Yuzu said
"Alright. See you tomorrow" The girl said
"You better make time for us so we can hang out" The other girl said and Yuzu nodded
"Of course. Bye" Yuzu said and walked away
"You could've gone with them" Mei said
"Nah, I 'd rather spend time with you than waste my time with other people. So we're going to your friend's place?" Yuzu asked
"You don't have to carry me all the way there" Mei said
"I insist. Besides I don't want to leave without hearing an explanation" Yuzu said
"What?" Mei asked
"I thought you wanted to talk, Mei. Why did you try to run away?" Yuzu asked. Mei sighed deeply and looked to the side
"...I don't know...it's confusing" Mei said
"What is?" Yuzu asked
"These...these feelings...I don't understand them. I don't understand anything..." Mei said
"...that's how I feel too" Yuzu said
"What?" Mei asked
"You're not alone. I'm also confused and wondering why I'm feeling this way when I'm with you. Especially when I'm this close to you..." Yuzu said blushing a little
"Do you get weird dreams too?" Mei asked
"Weird dreams that you can't remember once you wake up?" Yuzu asked
"Yes" Mei said
"Heh...yeah. I think I was only 8 when I first started having these weird dreams" Yuzu said
"So we both have this problem. If we're feeling like this then what should we do?" Mei asked
"Obviously we can't ignore it and...avoiding each other won't solve it either. So...let's be together" Yuzu said
"What do you mean by together?" Mei asked
"...let's get to know each other. Does that sound good? From there we'll see what happens. Maybe by being together we can get fixed. I know you told me to stay away but...I can't help myself. And I don't think I'm the only one who feels that...right?" Yuzu said
"...fine" Mei said
"So don't try to run away from me or else I'll chase right after you" Yuzu said
"...okay" Mei said
"Is that all you have though?" Yuzu asked
"Hm?" Mei asked
"You only have weird dreams?" Yuzu asked
"Uhm yeah. Why?" Mei asked
"Just wondering" Yuzu said
So she can't see the red string like me?
Mei lifted her head looking behind her noticing that they were quite far
"It should be safe now. You can go ahead and put-"
"I'm here! Phew!" Himeko said as she ran towards the girls and sighed deeply
"Hey Momokino-san. You don't mind if I tag along with you guys for a bit?" Yuzu asked
"Of course not" Himeko said
"Great" Yuzu said
"Put me down" Mei said
"Hehehe nope" Yuzu giggled

I really didn't want to do this but that one comment who said to turn that Reincarnation AU one shot into a story got me thinking and welp I ended up doing it. I haven't even finished my other story and decided to make a new one. Hate my mind but oh well. I can't help but come up with several ideas. Let's see how this goes.
