I was eating breakfast on a Friday morning when a small grey owl swooped down in front of me, nearly missing my plate of food. The owl was smaller than the other owls and looked as if it had never seen the outside world before.
I noticed an envelope carefully tired around the owl's leg , I gently took it off and opened it to find two letters. One said Mom and Dad the other Caitlin. I opened Caitlin's first and read:
Hey Lily! I hope you're having fun at your new school. Mom and Dad won't tell me where you are exactly but the house is so quiet without you. Also, why do we have to send you letters through an owl? Whatever, just write back soon! -Caitlin
I smiled to myself and opened the next letter. This one looked much more well put together and slightly neater.
Lily, we hope you're doing well at your magic school. Caitlin misses you so much and we feel awful for not telling her where you are, but we think it's best for all this wizard stuff stays a secret. Unless she starts showing signs of magic like you, but that's unlikely. Anyways, miss you lots! -Mom
Lils! I miss you so much and hope you're having fun at Hogwarts. I'm not going to lie, it's a little boring over here without you, but we'll manage. Oh, I know it's a little late, but I convinced your mother to get an owl so we can send letters to you. She's still a little young and needs a name. She is very smart and very curious. She got into your mother's closet and ripped at least 2 shirts, Caity and I had to hold in laughs. Wish you could've seen it. Miss you, sweetie! -Dad
I looked at the owl and saw that she was having a staring contest with Zane. Obviously he lost and started pouting as he stuffed his mouth with bacon. "Hey, since my new owl seems to like you, do you have any suggestions as to what I should name her?"
He put his finger to his chin and began pondering what her name should be, "Hey little bird, what should we call you?" He used the back of his finger to gently pet the back of her head and she snuggled up against his hand. "Ha! She likes me more than you." He proclaimed proudly.
"Maybe she does, but she still needs a name. Come here, come here," I coax the small owl closer to me. She waddles over and bumps into my glass of juice, almost causing it to spill. "Aren't you a little clumsy?" She looked downwards as an apology. I noticed a patch of feathers that were a little darker than the rest making a small shape. The shape of a crescent moon. "Look, she has a little moon on the back of her head."
"That's it!" Zane shouted, standing up from his seat. "Her name should be-"
"Hello there, mudbloods," I heard from behind me and turned around to face the blond haired jerk.
"What do you want, Draco?" His face contorted into disgust and he backed away slightly.
"Don't call me that. To you, it's Malfoy." He sneered and narrowed his eyes.
"Fine, Malfoy. What do you want?"
"I came here to say I shouldn't have said what I said yesterday." Nothing about his "apology" was genuine but I wasn't in the mood to bicker with some spoiled rich boy who probably doesn't even have a heart.
"Are you actually apologizing?" Zane asked. He must've thought that Draco was actually being sincere.
"No," Draco retorted. "I'm not apologizing, I'm just taking back what I said. Now I'm going to go talk with some purebloods, hope you have a terrible day." His fake smile made me burn with anger.

I was feeling rather tired for the remainder of the day and decided to go to bed early even though I had a potions assignment due tomorrow morning. I was getting ready for bed when I heard Hermione walk in, she also seemed tired. "Are you going to bed early too?" I ask her while brushing my teeth.
