II
After I got over how massive the valley was, well I didn't. It was just so huge, how had people not noticed it yet. And how had people not even seen it from the water! I was speechless, it was just that amazing. I noticed a larger than normal pine tree with what looked like purple coils around it.
"Wow." I said. I was just so amazed at how big and amazing this place was.
Yea, its always a shocker for new people. Anyways welcome to Camp Half Blood."
"Wow, oh yea. what am I exactly." I had been wondering that ever since I left my old home.
"Well, the Greek gods are alive and well, they sometimes hook up with mortals and their children are Demigods. Half god and half mortal, and that's what you are, I think. These Demi-gods can sometimes control what's in their godly parents domain. Like for the sky god, Zeus. His children would be able to control the weather, and summon lightning bolts."
"Hmm." I said, half amazed, half suspicious. I was getting a bit worried, in life you can't have too many gifts or talents without a major weakness. "So, I'm guessing that there's a downside to being a Demi-god, isn't there."
"Yep" He said. "They're godly side sends a sort of scent that attracts a lot of monsters. So it's a living nightmare for most. Oh, why am I so dumb, I completely forgot to introduce myself." The satyr held out his hand. "My names Sam, Sam greenwood." He said.
"Hi, I'm Chloe." I didn't say my last name, I didn't really have one since I left home. Suddenly everything froze, and I mean everything. There was no sound of the wind through the trees, the orange figures who must be the campers stopped moving. Everything except for me. Hey writer, what's the deal? (You'll see evil grinning face)A voice came booming down from the sky.
"Chloe, you do know that I'm the author, and that I control this world."
"Um, no you don't." I reached into the sky and grabbed an invisible object. The author came crashing down.
"Wha- Ow. How did you even know that I'm there?" He said.
"I have power here as well. So, why has everything stopped?"
"Because I'm here to help you with living more than a couple days. Also you will need to have some Demigod abilities. Name a power that's Reasonable, but not what you will control. "
I thought for a bit and said. "What about being able to make the thing that I control as hard as steel, to make weapons. Or making a portal with it."
"That would be okay, and I'll throw in some random powers. But it will take you a lot of time and practice to master them." The author was somewhat glowing now. And I won't even try to describe him. His face was constantly shifting, but always getting back to a version of my dad. -_- I am going to kill you for that. (You can try, but I control this world.)
"Anyways." The author said. "I must be going now, please be nice to the other campers, but never trust the Stoll brothers."
I was about to ask who they were when he flew up into the clouds, making it rain cheese. Yea, cheese. The cheese disappeared when it reached the land, and the storm only lasted about a minute. Then everything unfroze, campers went about doing their normal business. And Sam the Satyr unfroze.
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Chloe." He said. Suddenly a roar came from behind us, deep in the forest. Like a lion crossed with a zombie roar.We both looked down into the forest, and Sam said. "We better get moving, like right now."
"Yea." We half walked half jogged into the valley, then Sam stopped all of a sudden, beside the pine tree. There was a greenish blue glow that seemed to be coming from behind me. I turned around but there was nothing there, now it looked like it was coming from Sam. I turned my head back again but no light source. That's when I looked up. There was a glowing three pointed spear, a trident. "EEK." I screeched. Then I noticed some movement by the purple coils, but now the coils were a long snake like Dragon. It had three heads and each one of them was looking right at me. I think that it woke up once I screamed, or just because of the light from it.
"EEEEEK." Yea, first a glowing trident above my head, and now a dragon. I quickly backed away from the dragon, not knowing whether it would eat me or not. And a bumped into Sam, just as he let out a goatly bleat.
"I've never seen Anyone been claimed that fast."I moved away from Sam and started to swat away the trident but couldn't, like it was stuck to me. The dragon went back to sleeping under the tree and I got a bit less scared.
"W-what, why is there a freaking glowing trident above my head." I said.
"That." Sam said as his eyes widened. "Is what we call being claimed, your godly parent has claimed you their daughter." The trident was starting to fade away, but I was still shocked. At the dragon and the claiming.
"I-is this normal. Does everyone get a glowing trident above their head?"
"Well, it's only Poseidon's children that have the trident. But we haven't had a new one, for a while. When Demigods get claimed by their parent they get a sign. Either their parents symbol above their head, or something else entirely." The trident had completely disappeared by now, but I wasn't still back to calm yet.
"So, Poseidon is the sea god, earth-shaker, storm-bringer. Have you had any explainable things close to water or a lake?"
"Um." I said. "My mom never let me go to a beach, or anything to do with water. We didn't even love close to water."
"Hmm. That would make it a bit harder for monsters to find you." His eyes widened. "Whoa."
"What?" I asked him.
"Nothing." I had to ask him about it later, when we heard the roar again, this time closer.
"We really need to be going, like, now!" I said, I didn't want to know about the thing coming for us but I knew that it wasn't good. We walked into the camp, and it was still amazing, but I noticed a path going straight to the big house, (The biggest house / cabin, I wonder why I called it that.) We headed along on the path, and there were campers everywhere. I saw lots of other things, like people at an archery range shooting with bows. All perfect shots, one even hit another arrow in the target. Now I could see a bit more detail of the cabins. The first one I saw was one that looked like a casino, complete with blinking lights, roulette wheels and more. I looked at some more cabins, one of them caught my eye. It had a painted roof, with pillars and a blue-and-white checkerboard deck with steps and gray walls. It also had a pink door, lace curtains and potted carnations by the window. Everything you need for a Barbie dream house, except for the smell. Even from where I was walking, about 60 feet from the cabin, I could still smell it.
"Ugh." I said, "What is that place, are they trying to make a stink bomb?"
"Heh, sometimes it sure seems like it. That's Aphrodite's cabin, Goddess of beauty."
(*sigh* This is getting hard to write, so please leave ideas in the comments. 98 more chapters to go. ) When am I going to get my powers? (Just wait Chloe, and you already have some.) Wait, was it the sha- (No more questions. Till next time guys.)
