"It's so good to be back home!" I say as Will and I walk through the front door of our home. About three days ago, our house was being fumigated for termites. After the exterminators told us they were done and our house was termite free, we packed up our things and immediately left Wanda and Vision's house.
"Gosh, I missed this place," Will says, closing the door.
"Me too," I say. We walk over to the couch and sit down. "I was really worried. I thought we were going to lose our home."
"Thank god for those exterminators. They did a really good job." Will says.
"They did, didn't they?" I say. After a few moments, we sit in silence on the couch, looking around and wondering what we should do. "So, what do you want to do? Play a game, watch a movie. We could go upstairs and take a nap." I do finger quotes at the word nap and wink at Will. We both chuckle.
"I'm actually kind of hungry," Will says.
"I can make us some burgers and whip us up a couple of chocolate milkshakes," I say.
"You read my mind," Will says. He leans in and kisses me.
"I may not be able to read minds anymore, but I know what my husband likes to eat," I say, getting up from the couch and walking over to the kitchen. "Do you want well done, medium well, or medium rare?"
"Medium well." Will responds.
Once I was in the kitchen, I used my powers to turn on the stove and brought out the patties. As I was getting everything set up, I noticed something shiny on the counter. I walked over to it and picked it up. The object was a silver arrowhead necklace. It looked strangely familiar. I know I have seen this before, but I can't place my mind on it. Suddenly, an old memory plays through my mind. In my memory, I see a dark-haired man giving me a present for my birthday. I opened it up, and my eyes widen at the silver arrowhead necklace that was inside a leather box.
"Clint, it's so beautiful. Thank you!" I say. I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a big hug. I looked really young here. I couldn't have been any older than fourteen.
"You're welcome, Kait." Clint smiles. "You want me to put it on for you?" I nod my head. "Just remember, as long as you wear this, a part of me will always be with you. Whether we're together or far apart, I'll never be too far away. I'm right by your side. No matter what."
I smiled at him and giggled.
Once the memory faded, I gasped and threw the necklace on the table. Will hears the noise in the kitchen and gets up from the couch. "Kaitlyn, are you all right? Is everything okay?" Will asks, concern on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just..."
"Just what?" Will asks. He notices me looking at the necklace on the table. "Hey, that's nice. I don't remember seeing this here. Did I buy you this?" He walks over to the counter and picks up the necklace.
