16 years ago, the new school year started, both Kyleas and Alicia had just entered the third grade. The eight years old Alicia was walking towards her new class, 3-B. Since the members of the classes were rearranged every new school years, she was separated from all her friends, all alone in this new class.
Feeling anxious, she entered the classroom and walked straight towards her assigned desk, the third row desk right by the window. As she was walking, There were a few people she recognized from her old class, but she had never spoken to them before. She wanted to speak to her new classmates but her shyness makes it hard for her to approach them.
"Hey, my name is Kyleas. Nice to meet you, new neighbor", said the boy besides her while looking to shake hands with her.
"Eh, I'm sorry, are you talking to me?", asked the young Alicia.
"Yup! Are you going to leave me hanging here? *laughs*", he replied.
"I- I'm Alicia, nice to meet you too, Kyleas", said Alicia as she shook his hands.
Kyleas continued to talk to her for the rest of the morning before the class started, while occasionally greeting his other friends. At that point she thought to herself, "Wow, I want to have a lot of friends like him in the future"
"Hey want to go have lunch together?", Kyleas suddenly asked Alicia when lunch break started.
"Y- You can go ahead without me", she replied.
"Okay sure, you can join me and my friends anytime!", he said.
The next day, as Alicia entered her classroom, Kyleas was again the first person to greet her and would always invite her for lunch. After a few weeks, Alicia finally agreed to join Kyleas and his friends for lunch. At first, Alicia was very anxious about having to converse with the other kids, but with Kyleas' help, she was able to get closer to them. As weeks and months gone by, both Kyleas and Alicia were slowly getting closer to one another.
"Morning Kyleas!", greeted Alicia.
"Morning Alicia, look at you, finally able to greet me first *laughs*", replied Kyleas.
"Yeah, I've learned a lot from you recently. Maybe one day I can have a lot of friends on my own, just like you!", she said while sitting down at her desk.
"Hehe you flatter me", he replied.
"Anyway, seems like everyone wants to do a group study in Charlotte's dorm for the upcoming exams, are you coming?", asked Kyleas.
"Sure, but can we go there together?", replied Alicia.
"Of course!", he said.
"Thank goodness... I've never been to a friend's dorm before, so I won't know what to do hehe. Good thing I have you with me", said Alicia.
"Well, before we had to switch classes again that is...", she added this time with a somber expression.
"Hey, don't worry about it. Even if we end up in different classes next year, we can still do a lot of things together. How about this, I'll go visit your class every lunch break so that we can have lunch together like usual", replied Kyleas with a reassuring smile.
"*chuckles* You don't have to go that far, you know. But thanks, you made me feel better already. Maybe some other times I can be the one visiting your class instead", she said.
"Yup, you never know!", said Kyleas.
Fast forwards a few months, both Kyleas and Alicia passed their exams with flying colors. During the spring break, the two of them often went to their other friends' dorm together, just to hang out or play around like any other kids would. Before they knew it, the new academic year rolled around.
