-Charlie PoV-
Once my father was definitely asleep, I decided to take Salis back to the palace. I wore the clothes I always wore and carried him on my back. He was really light. His head drooped slightly over my shoulders, and I walked out of the forge. It was dark but I couldn't take a lamp with me, it would draw the townspeople's attention, and that was the last thing I needed. I knew my way around the town's alleyways like the back of my hand. I slipped through one alleyway to another. It took me almost half the night. I knew I was going to be tired tomorrow.
When my eyes were finally bestowed upon the lit-up palace, I got a hit to the back of my head. I dropped the prince and he fell off my back, I grabbed my the back of my head in pain, and looked behind me to see who it was. I saw no one, but the prince, who was now sober, on the ground.
"What is wrong with you?", he asked, loudly, "how dare you treat me with such disrespect, carrying me on your back! Why am I out here? Did you kidnap me?"
I crouched down so that our eyes met, and I covered his mouth. I sighed, there he went again, ranting about his stupid, irrelevant, royal title.
"No I didn't kidnap you, I have no reason to", I whispered, loudly, "you came out here, by yourself, drunk, after sunset"
His eyes widened, "no! Impossible! I would never do such a thing".
I knew he was going to start shouting, at me, I saw the disbelief in his eyes, I quickly took one of the burnt off sleeves that were in my pockets and tied it around his mouth.
"Dearest apologies your highness", I mocked, "but it's true, and if you shout anymore, we're going to have a problem, and you don't want that, do you?"
He didn't respond in any way. I picked him up again, in bridle style so that he wouldn't hit my head and walked towards the palace. While I was walking, he untied the knot and looked at me with those sharp violet eyes.
"What did I do?", he asked.
"What do you mean?", I asked back.
"What did I do when I was drunk?", he asked again.
"If I tell you, you won't believe me", I replied.
"I will believe you, just tell me", he retorted.
I put him down, and he looked up and right at me, "you kissed me", I stated.
Even though it was dark outside, I could see his cheeks go a bright red. He was either really embarrassed or he was really mad.
"I don't believe you", he said.
"I knew you wouldn't", I replied.
I noticed that he had sobered up, "well since you aren't drunk anymore, I'll take my leave, you can walk back to the palace yourself".
I turned to walk away when he grabbed my hand and pulled me in. I turned back to see him; he quickly leaned in and kissed me. I couldn't believe it; he was sober so why was he kissing me? What was wrong with him. I tried to push him off but I felt weak, he pressed his body up against mine. I heard his soft moans through the kiss. He parted the kiss, his breath was heavy, without waiting another second he kissed me again. His tongue intertwined with mine, just like before. I wanted to push him off, but I couldn't.
"Who's there?", someone yelled.
We parted the kiss in shock, we quickly rushed into an alleyway, and we saw an old woman walking past us with a lamp, shining it on the path.
"Show yourself", she demanded.
We didn't dare speak.
"Got back to sleep Edith, it was probably just another fox", someone yelled.
She went back into her house, when the light faded away Salis started giggling.
"What's so funny?", I asked, "we could've been caught".
"You should've seen your face", he chuckled.
I sighed in return, and decided to leave.
"Please wait", he stated.
I turned back, "what?"
"I believe you", he smiled.
He smiled. I had never even seen him smile. I knew that he was definitely drunk, so I turned around and decided to leave. He was drunk. I knew he was drunk. There was no way he would ever smile at me, and kiss me. He was drunk. I knew he was drunk. He would never smile at me; he would never believe me. I repeated that in my mind until I got back.
I walked back to the forge; I looked up at the night sky. I saw the star you would see before sunrise. Regulus. I sighed, releasing I got no sleep. I walked into my room, grabbed my metal rod, the pails from the open space and I walked to the Lake of the Spirits.
The rest of my day was even worse than the night. I burned my leg, I snapped a knife in half, I over sharpened a blade, causing me to also cut myself and I stubbed my pinky toe. My father was concerned.
"Charlie, are you feeling alright?", he asked.
"I'm perfectly fine father", I lied.
I wasn't ok I was tired, sleepy, and dizzy. I'm sorry father, I know I am your son, a kind caring, understanding person, who will do as they are told but the next time I see that little prince, I swear on the name of the wizard of the night, Ixyll that I will kill him. I don't care if he is a prince, I don't care if they'll kill me afterwards, I swear I was going to end his life when I see him next, because of his stupid antics, and his stupid idea of drinking, and his stupid soft lips that he kissed me with.
"Charlie, stop", my father ordered.
I snapped back to reality and realised that I wasn't sharpening anything, because the blade that I was sharpening split in half and the cut off bits were on the floor, glowing red when they tore off from each other.
My father looked at me dead in my eyes. He was furious, I could tell.
"Go inside Charlie", he demanded.
"I'm sorry father, I didn't know", I apologised, "I'll do better".
"I said go inside", he ignored me.
"Father, please, it isn't even midday, I'll do better", I stated, "you won't be able to continue on your own-"
"ENOUGH!", he yelled, "go inside, Charlie".
His loud and deep voice boomed through the forge, other people stopped by to look.
"Goodness Argus, can't you be a little more kinder to the poor boy?", an old woman asked.
"You have no business here Miriam", he bellowed.
She scoffed and walked off; my father looked at me.
"You need some rest", he stated, "go inside and sleep, and tomorrow, you can collect the water a little bit later".
I didn't bother arguing back and walked into the back.
