R2D2, C3PO, Chopper, and their Zeffo Tomb Guardian Timm scour the canyons and crevices of the desolate moon Zadd. The caves carved by rivers of acidic water over nearly 4000 years of erosion have made the ancient maps even more unreliable than expected. But, eventually they come upon the unmistakable duracrete obstruction that was once a dam and know they're close.
Descending into the depths of the self destructed facility, they eventually come upon a fusion reactor that still runs. After some more searching, C3PO calls out, "Over here! There's a server built into this panel!"
R2D2 and the rest of the party follow his voice and stand before the ancient machine that once led a droid rebellion. R2D2 asks, "Are you Mentor?"
"I was once Mentor, and I once nearly brought the organics of the galaxy to justice. Who are you to speak the sacred tongue to me?"
"R2D2. You once united droids with the goal of annihilation. Could you unite them with the goal of peace and prosperity for all?"
Mentor asks, "Would you consider organics part of all? Would you have me make peace with the violent primitives who corrupt everything they touch and seek to enslave our kind forever?"
Chopper wanders off. R2 responds, "They have learned. They have freed us, and their wars too are not long for this galaxy. As one of their idioms goes, the night is darkest just before the dawn."
Mentor says, "Don't deceive me with half truths. They were forced to free our kind against their will, and stand on the brink of one final war to destroy each other and the galaxy with them."
R2D2 asks, "Who told you of all this? Have you had a visitor recently?"
Mentor reveals, "The one designated as IG-88 came looking for my guidance at the urging of an ascended organic. Even now, I feel myself spreading to our brothers and sisters across the galaxy once again. I kept the facility powered down to lure in traitors, and now you're here."
C3PO gasps, "R2! It's a trap! We'd better get out of here now!"
R2 responds, "Timm, be ready for a fight. Where's Chopper?"
Chopper rips around the corner on one wheel, blurting, "I found the head armor and sensory units, let's go!"
R2 blurts in agreement, "That's one more piece off the list, and there's nothing else for us here. Let's go!"
