Mornings were not Kaiyo's strong suit. Every morning, the alarm would be set off. This would cause the reaction of Kai to be forcefully awakened, with a bit of shock from them. Of course, this led to the quirk of the girl to be 'activated.' With that, she'd stick to her pillow and blanket. Kaiyo thrashed about, only sticking to more. "Will you- COME ON!" With a quick thump, she fell off of the bed. Heavy breathing escaped her nostrils as the quirk slowed, causing the objects to peel off.

Kaiyo Aiuchi— Her quirk is Gum. It gives her the ability to stretch any part of her body. Neck, arm, leg and even her tongue! To think of it, she's like a piece of gum, also one of the main reasons her body and hair are shades of pink! (Her hair is also made of bubblegum) But, if she extends more than 76 meters and stays stretched out for a minute, her body malfunctions and causes her body to be stuck for an entire hour in that position. When a form of emotion is heightened, be it anxiety or even happiness, the quirk activates on its own and sticks to anything she touches. This is a big reason she carries flour!

Her room was nothing special. The walls were a bubblegum blue with a white border along the floor and ceiling. The twin sized bed, a simple white with blue pillows, was tucked in the corner. A chest sat at the end of the bed, filled with trinkets from childhood. A few inches from the chest was her desk, a laptop sat on there partially closed. Next to it was a lamp cluttered with stickers old and new. On the shelf part of it, stuffed dolls of different heroes were stacked messily. Posters of Sanrio characters, Kuromi, My Melody, etc. Along the other wall was a dresser and a wardrobe. Both were painted white with bright blue handles. In the middle there was open space, a blue fluffy carpet was placed in an attempt to make it less– empty.

She stood with a huff, already ready to call the day quits. That was, until the smell of fresh pancakes wafted into the room. The scent caused the teen to drool slightly. Kaiyo followed the scent into the kitchen, a smile on her face. "Momma, I'm up." Her voice deepened in a playful tone, "Now gimme them pancakes."

Shiori stared at her daughter, spatula in hand. "Now I don't know about you. But, I don't hand my pancakes to demons." The smile formed on her lips, only to grow into a grin. "Only to my precious daughter. But I suppose she's not here. These pancakes shall be left for the bin."

Shiori Aiuchi— A quirkless, single mother to Kaiyo Aiuchi. Kaiyo was adopted by the age of nine. She was not able to give the world her own children, so when she found Kaiyo, she happily took her in. This mother tries to support her daughter as much as she can! Underneath her house is a bakery, where Shiori works. (Old) baked goods are often strewn about.

"Moooom." Kaiyo whined, dropping the pink chin on her shoulder. "Give me the pancakes already.. please?" The reluctant 'please' escaped as she followed the plate around with her eyes.

The mom smiled, placing the plate down, "All I needed was a please. So, is Yuga going to come over for breakfast or am I going to have to knock on the door?" Shiori waved Kaiyo's fork around slightly angrily. "I made all these pancakes and he didn't even come over?"

"Maybe, I think he has to work on his quirk though. He still gets stomach aches if he uses his quirk too much. The doctor says it's a side effect but he's tried a lot to work on it. It's not 'good for his look' if he's in a lot of pain." Kaiyo explained, but her mouth watered for the pancakes in front of her. She snatched the fork and immediately dug in.

"That boy.. I told him not to work so much. His quirk just seems unfit even after years." Shiori pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head disappointingly. Looking back up, she snatched the fork out of her daughter's hand. "Kaiyo Aiuchi you better go get that boy or you're not taking another bite of these pancakes!" With a scolding, the mother sent Kaiyo on her merry way.

Kaiyo dragged her feet, whining slightly. A hand on her stomach. She stepped out of the apartment and knocked on the door next to hers. "Yuga, it's me. Mom said come over now or she's starving me." Aiuchi groaned, placing her forehead onto the door.

"Coming, Mon Ami! I just finished getting ready for our testing today." A muffled voice came through the door. When it swung open, there stood a blonde just three inches taller. The smile was plastered on his face, excited for the day to come. "Mother's out on another business trip. You could have seen her if you came a few moments earlier."

Kaiyo returned his smile, tapping her side as she waited. "You know, of all the years I knew you, I barely once spoke to your mother. It was usually when she'd walk us to school. Even then, she never said a word."

He chuckled nervously, pushing her back towards the apartments, closing the door behind him. "Oh you know. It's just how she is. Let's go eat okay? What did your mom make to eat?" Aoyama followed after, arms hidden behind his back.

"Pancakes!" She took a moment to sniff as Kaiyo opened the door. "With pork sausage! Were you cooking them only for Yuga? That's so mean." With a whine, Kaiyo took a seat at the table, grabbing her fork. She poked around at her soggy pancakes and looked up in defeat.

As Aoyama sat, a fresh plate of pancakes steaming with melted butter was placed in front of him. He inhaled, taking in the cooking with a smile. "I don't know why you're upset, Kai. You get great food every day. I personally don't get it." He playfully shot a look at her.

Kaiyo glared, the obvious piece of floppy pancake on her fork. She looked up and over to her mother who brought over another plate of steaming pancakes. "Don't say I didn't love you" Kai heard, but blatantly ignored the statement as she scarfed down every last bite.

"Yuga, how is your stomach dear? Is it feeling better from yesterday? Are you doing okay?" Shiori asked, placing her own plate down in front of her. She bombarded him with motherly questions.

With an awkward wiggle in his seat, Aoyama smiled, "Of course, mam. I'm ready for today, my stomach is fine. What about you, Kaiyo?" He quickly dismissed the questions, turning to his friend who made a muffled noise. Yuga laughed, covering his mouth. "Kai, you're not dressed. Your hair is a mess too. We only have," He glanced at the clock on the wall, "Five minutes until we need to leave. Any longer and we'll be late."

Kaiyo stood, slamming her hands onto the kitchen table. "What?!" She shouted before quickly recoiling her hands up at the glare of her mother. "Sorry-" She apologized before rushing to her room. "It takes me ten minutes to get my hair normal!" A cry came from her room.

"No, it takes you ten minutes to get out of this house for no reason." He walked following Kaiyo back, a brush covered in flour in hand.

To any normal person, or any passerbys, many would be concerned with the shouting and thumps coming from the Aiuchi household. But most of the complex had actually grown accustomed to it. Shiori, who had been sipping her cup of coffee, had most definitely grown used to it.

The two returned. Kaiyo had put her hair, the best she could, into a ponytail. Her school uniform stuck slightly as she walked quickly. "We're leaving now, mom. I'll see you tonight." She slipped on her shoes, turning back to wave to Shiori. "I promise I'll be back early enough to help close!"

"Don't worry about it. Today you can relax, okay? Aoyama, dear, tell your mother and father they are welcome for dinner today." Shiori waved off to the two kids.

"My mother left just this morning for a business trip, but I will offer it to my father. You know how he is." Yuga opened the door and stepped out, "thank you for breakfast."

"Bye mom! Love you." And off went the two teens.

Kaiyo couldn't help but whine on their walk to UA. "God, Aoyama. I'm so nervous. I don't. Know if I want to do this."

Aoyama rolled his eyes, latching an arm around hers. He visibly cringed as he stuck to her. "It's fine, okay? You and I, we'll be going to UA, one step closer to becoming flashy heroes! 'I can not stop twinkling' and Elasti-girl!"

"I am not naming myself Elasti-girl." Kaiyo let out a dry laugh, unsticking slightly from her friend. "What would I do without you, Yuga?"

"Die, probably." He laughed in return.

Both students continued on their way towards the looming campus of UA, ready for the entrance exams to begin.
