Wow was an understatement for Kai. The building itself was large and the campus was just- bigger. She had seen it in passing and on television, but in person it was much more. Even if she isn't able to go here- though that would make her cry- it was an honor to even experience life at UA.
Yet the anxiety of the exams to come seemed to grow with every moment. Writing exams weren't the best, as her grades even currently were subpar. Which meant that Kaiyo had to rely on the hero exam. She wasn't worried perhaps about the use of her quirk. Quirk wise, she was decent. It was just whether or not everyone would beat her to the punch.
So when she stood in front of the large gates of the city, separated from the one person who put her nerves at ease, Kaiyo seemed to quietly lose it. The explanation of every bot seemed to slip past her mind. That, and some of the students there appeared... scary?
And everyone began running. Her feet carried on with every step as the others. Kaiyo reached her arm up, grabbing onto a nearby ledge. Climbing on someone wasn't a bit rude, right? If it was, then she'd have to apologize to whoever she monkey climbed to use as leverage to swing past the crowd.
Her arm flew back, almost like a measuring tape, as she landed on the dirt. Dirt flew as she turned on her heels, waving to the disgruntled person. "Sorry!" Kaiyo cringed at herself, before turning back to the machines.
"Three, two, two, three, one, two." Kaiyo hissed underneath every breath, attempting to keep track of the points. Did heroes do that? Keep track of every villain they took down?
A shrill voice seemed to interrupt her thoughts, "Holy shit. It's that big ass one!"
"Big one?" She thought, following the gaze. As the student yelled, it was clear what they had to do next: Run.
"Damn it! This isn't over." Another voice, this time a bit more gruff. When Kaiyo looked, there was a boy with puffy blonde hair. He, unlike anyone else there, remained right where he was. Most of the three pointers were closest to that thing anyway.
She looked at the horde running away and back towards the blonde who hadn't moved with them. "Fuck it, fuck it, fuck it-" Kaiyo took the moment to run towards the blonde, "Come on, you have to get out of there-!" Before she could get closer, something wrapped around her wrist.
Her eyes shot down at the white piece. Kaiyo looked back where the white tape led. A boy waved a hand, yelling something. She lifted a hand up in confusion before moving back towards the blonde.
Kaiyo yelped as another piece around her waist. Then suddenly, she began to fly backwards. She crashed into a body. With worry, she began to squirm, "Get off!"
"Hey- hey. I understand wanting to help somebody but he can take care of himself. Don't hurt yourself over his bad decisions." A voice spoke, which seemed to be the thought of the hour. His voice was gentle as he removed whatever was around her.
She turned, face fuming. "And your idea was to just grab me? Do you know how dangerous that is especially in an area like this?" Kaiyo faced the culprit.
He was much taller than her, who stood at 5'3. Black hair and eyes. His elbows were weird- that thought was quickly shook out of her head- and she could see what had wrapped around her. A thick tape, sticky as well.
"Hey, it was better than letting you get hurt. I'm sorry for scaring you, if that helps." He shrugged, looking around. "If you were hurt, make sure you let these bots know." The male quickly walked off as the exam ended, waving down a med for his own scratches.
Kaiyo wished she could have shouted- but he was right. She could have gotten hurt running after the other guy. Her hands brushed over her face as she groaned. Where was the exit to this exam?
