"Hey darling I missed you." Lee Know smiled. At the sound of the pet name 'darling', Y/N's face turned bright red. She would never admit this, but she absolutely adored pet names. And hearing them from Lee Know was definitely bonus points.

"Hiii Minnie you missed me~?" Y/N teased, biting back a smile.

"Of course I did, who wouldn't miss this cute giggly squirrel~?" Lee Know smirked, knowing that he had a huge effect on Y/N by the way she had turned into a giggling mess.

"Literally shut up Minnie, you know that's not true-!" Y/N pouted even though both of them knew it was true, Y/N would never, ever, admit it.

"Oh~? Really? Are you sure? Because when you're in my lap your face says otherwise~" Lee Know teasingly questioned. Y/N rolled her eyes at the comment.

"O-Okay stop please-" Y/N begged shyly. Of course Y/N would be shy, who wouldn't if their crush was flirting with them?

Lee Know burst into laughter at Y/N's face. He obviously knew how Y/N would react, so he was getting pure entertainment out of the moment. 'Sometimes, just sometimes, she is too adorable.'

A few minutes later, Y/N and Lee Know finally calmed down.

"Anyways~ how was your day?" Y/N asked, smiling. Lee Know adored the fact that she always asked about his day and how he was going. Y/N always had a way to make Lee Know feel special and loved.

"Hm.. let's see. Pretty awesome because I got to talk to you~" Lee Know teased as Y/N blushed furiously. Out of habit, she hid her face inside her hands.

Did Y/N forget that Lee Know was still on the phone with her? Maybe, for a quick moment. "Like- no- wait but-" Y/N stammered, trying to put together a response, but the only things that were coming out were her nervous babbles.

"I- Ugh you know what I mean!" Y/N managed, and Lee Know chuckled at the flusteredness of Y/N's voice.

"Be serious Minnie!" Y/N pouted.

"Okay okay, I'll be serious. My parents were out today so the house was, I guess, basically empty. I got really bored and all, so I decided to go out and do something. Anyways- so I kind of went on this 'date' with a guy I met on insta. Surprisingly he was actually kind of fun and I know I complain about everyone and all but he was actually nice he bought me things, we hung out for the day.." Lee Know rambled happily.

However, Y/N had stopped listening after the word 'date'. Everything seemed so muffled, so drowned out. The only thing she could concentrate on was the burning sensation running through her body and her racing heartbeat.

She suddenly felt extremely hot. Well, the tears welling up inside Y/N's eyes would probably explain that. When Y/N cried, it felt like her whole body was crying. Her ears, face, neck and body felt like they were on fire.

Now, don't get me wrong. Y/N always knew that Lee Know was a bit of a flirt, but she always thought that maybe he could've liked her. The way Lee Know treated her was definitely more than friends. Did she misread things? Was that it? 'No, there's no way I misread things. Was Minho really that oblivious..?'

It wasn't until Y/N heard her name being called out repetitively that she came out of her daze. "Y/N? Darling? Baby... are you okay? Do I need to come and rescue you from your tower?" Y/N knew that Lee Know was trying to make jokes to lighten the mood, but Y/N wasn't finding any of it funny.

As Lee Know heard the soft sniffling coming from the other side, he immediately understood. "My love, are you okay..? I'm getting worried baby.." Lee Know trailed off, this time with not a sense of humour.

A quiet sigh was heard as Y/N forced herself to speak up. "D-Did you really like him..?" Y/N whispered, voice cracking. Lee Know's face turned into one of confusion. He had thought Y/N was physically hurt, but she was hurt, heartbroken.

"Baby-" Lee Know started.

"I asked you a question Minho." Y/N said drily. 'Sh't. She only calls my real name when she's angry..' Y/N wasted no time with her response. She was hurt and she wanted the truth and she wanted the conversation over with.

"Uhm.. yeah I suppose.." Lee Know answered, discomfort evident in his voice. Y/N felt her heart break. 'Why am I never the one people thought about through the day? Why am I always the second choice? Why can't anyone ever care for me and mean it?'

A soft 'oh' was all that was heard for a while as Y/N silently cried. There was nothing but awkward silence until Y/N decided to speak up. "W-Well.. that's great-! I'm pr-proud of you, I understand how difficult it is for you with commitment.."

At this point, Y/N decided to hang up. She could barely speak properly anymore with the tears gliding down her cheeks, let alone talk with Lee Know. Lee Know called out for Y/N repeatedly, but Y/N was drowning in her puddle of tears. She was angry at Lee Know for being with someone else. But there was something else..

The sad part is, that at the end of the day, as much as Y/N hates Lee Know for getting with someone else, she was still happy for him. He had listened to him explain how he was scared to be in a committed relationship many times, and deep inside Y/N's heart, she was hoping that maybe, just maybe she would be the person with whom he'd break that fear with. But if Lee Know was happy, then Y/N was, okay. I mean, after being alone for so long, you'd think she'd be used to it.
