a little gingerbread competition

In front of us was lots of gingerbread house assembling things and Tom Allen stood between the tables, ready to get us going! The cameras were rolling and my two little troublemakers had a table to share whilst I had one to myself. He spoke in german at first and then made the most awful joke about the gingerbread houses being erect and whilst I thought it was funny I cringed because I knew Perrie and Leigh were half in their headspaces.

They'd both been so excited about today and I was too! I tried to keep them big for as long as possible but I knew the actual challenge was going to make them slip, especially if I wasn't really able to intervere. We had to keep it very subtle too. I'm hoping and praying their littleness will be seen as just childish, excited behaviour as they are usually percieved by fans.

I caught Leigh out of the corner of my eye, giggling to herself about the penis joke and I just smiled; little minds. Then, she began to count loudly and excitedly.
"Three! Two! One!"
But Tom interuptted her, "that's my job. I'm meant to be doing it." I laughed, he sounded like a little one himself and by the shocked look on Perrie's face, she thought so too. Well, then he set us off!

I started it, getting into the groove and arranging my pieces. Perrie put her head down and got on with it too. It was a difficult thing and I knew they'd both struggle with it a little bit. I was hoping they'd get through it themselves but I didn't want any upset or slipping too far so if it got too bad or concerning I'd get involved. Part of me hoped they'd help each other but whilst Leigh will help Perrie, when Perrie gets competitive, she's only in it for herself. It was cute but sometimes, just sometimes, a little frustrating,

As I built my house, I saw Leigh look around and Tom say something along the lines of 'that looks terrible', now I knew he was joking and teasing as any host would - should even - he didn't know the fragility of my little girls's minds and I didn't want them upset. Looking up, I saw Leigh's troubled and upset face. I pouted and she gave me her little eyes - the ones I've learnt to recongise in a heartbeat. I set down my walls and skipped over to help her quickly.

"What's up?" I asked, putting a soft hand on the curve of her back.
"No workin," she mumbled back to me, showing me how she was building it. I chuckled to myself a little.
"It's only a one story house sweet, look how this bit is taller than the roof - that won't work-"
"That's cheating! You can't help!" Perrie pouted, interjecting herself into the conversation.
"Perrie, let me just help her with the walls," I said to her, sternly.
"No! That's against the rules," she pouted. I sighed and did it anyway, if she wanted to aruge she can. I wasn't not going to help her sister.
"Cheater," Perrie mumbled at Leigh but I shot her a stern, 'don't you dare' look and she very quickly apologised. Once Leigh's walls were on, she thanked me sweetly and I headed back to mine.
"That was very much against the rules," Tom told me, standing by my table. I shrugged and smiled. Oh well.

We all got stuck in after that, enjoying ourselves and making general conversation with the host. I had my house built and I heard Tom say Perrie's was built too, I was a proud mama. But then I heard Leigh-Anne's whines. I watched her house crumble and heard her little foot stomp. I gave her a little look and she pouted.
"Just try again," I mouthed to her, she nodded sadly from across the room and went trying again.
"Is this it Pez?" I heard her ask her sister after a few moments but Perrie didn't reply, too competitive. I noticed she had hers up though and I was proud, she'd done good. I began decorating mine, putting a wreath on the door and things, it was exciting. Then, I heard Perrie's screech: "My wallll." I looked up and saw one of her walls had fallen down but it wasn't going to be too hard for her to fix. I gave her a reassuring smile and she smiled back at me. She tugged her hair behind her ear and crouched down to fix it - my determind superstar.
