(A/N: I hope this is good. I rewrote it four times. I just couldn't get it out of my head and onto the computer. So I hope you enjoy... or cry... or laugh.. or whatever. (: Make sure to listen to the song on the side the WHOLE time. )
***Song: The Scientist by Coldplay***
Harry’s POV:
We’ve all had these moments. The ones where the world just seems to freeze. Time stands still, your body stuck in place, nothing is moving but your thoughts. Your emotions running wild with them. Your heart sort of thumps harder and louder. Your pulse quickens as you see what’s in front of you.
Your eyes come across a face that you’d thought you’d only see in memories. But now, they’re right in front of you. Within touching distance. And what do you do?
You freeze.
You’re frozen.
In shock?
In love?
In anger?
In relief?
Your emotions are changing so much that you can’t just grab one and stick with it. It’s impossible to say any words, because you want them full of meaning. But with meaning comes emotion…And which one do you feel?
You’ve pictured this scenario a billions times in your head. Each one different from the other and each one ends a different way. This time though, it’s not a scenario. It’s not a fantasy. It’s not a nightmare.
It’s reality. And you’re unprepared for reality. You’re chickening out. You’re in shock so bad that it scares you to unconsciousness almost. This all seems to be more frightening than the nightmares but also more beautiful than your dreams.
She’s here. In front of you.
What your heart yearns for, what your lungs breathe for. The whole point of living is based on her, and here she is. Right in front of you.
So what do you do?
You do nothing.
You’re just…
frozen.
***a few minutes earlier…***
I heard clattering from behind me and that’s why I woke up. I groaned and pushed my face harder against the sofa cushion. My head was pounding. Damn alcohol.
Using my good hand, I propped myself up and through my blurry eyes I saw a female with brown hair standing by the sink. I groaned and plopped myself back down on the sofa.
“El, can you get me a glass of water?” I croaked out but winced at the loudness of my own voice.
I hate hangovers.
There wasn’t any more sound from the kitchen and I groaned. “Please, El?”
I heard a sigh before the faucet turned on. I softly heard a glass being filled up with water and a small smile came across my face. Light footsteps walked over to me and I cracked open my eyes to see a hand holding out a glass of water.
I grinned wider and took it from her. “Thanks, El.”
The footsteps walked away, but not down the hallway. She went back into the kitchen. I gulped down my water and emptied the glass quickly. I reached out and rested the glass on the nearby side table before reaching into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I clicked the button and groaned as the screen shined in my face. The brightness was way too high.
