[Third person pov]

"So why did you do it?" The blonde-haired prince repeated as the queen's silence was a little longer than he liked.

"Pardon me?" Sarnai whispered as she stared at the prince confused as to why he brought something like this up. "I just don't get it! Everyone admires you as a sweet and admirable person, including me, yet you are engaged to a self-centred, heartless man!" Alibaba choked. Sarnai remained astonished at Alibaba's attitude and didn't bother saying a word.

Alibaba's voice was heard all over the halls and Sarnai did not doubt that every knight, servant and maid could hear him.

"Are you bringing this up because Hakuryuu told you about Kouen conquering Balbadd?" She asked calmly and the prince looked away. "Y-Yes," he mumbled while bowing his head in shame towards his reasons being easily found out by the queen. A small giggle escaped her lips and the prince darted his eyes to look at her weirdly.

"I was the same way when I first met him too ya know," She replied, "I was furious, frightened and disgusted when I met him all because of what his countrymen did to my family." Her tone became quiet, but she still looked at the blonde-haired prince as if nothing could break her.

"I was 20 when he and I first interacted with each other and it wasn't a pleasant one, there was a lot of arguing, swearing and more. But as fate would have it, we would see each other occasionally at events and even on the battlefield." She softly laughed when she remembered the times they shared and the arguments that now seemed stupid to her.

"Over time, I learned to push past the fact that Kouen wasn't responsible for what happened to my parents, and as time went on we got closer and then...he proposed." She smiled while looking at the ground reminding herself of how the red-haired prince looked so nervous and how his once proud, powerful voice was, timid.

"You don't know Kouen as I do and you have no right to tell me that he's not good for me Alibaba, I know you are frustrated because of what is going on but you don't get to tell me who I can or cannot marry," She barked.

"I-I understand, I am sorry for my behaviour," Alibaba whispered while avoiding eye contact with the queen. Even though Sarnai was still quite annoyed with the prince's words towards her fiancé, she let go of her pride and hugged the prince.

"It's alright, Alibaba..." She sighed as she felt the prince return her hug. "A lot is going on and even I am having trouble adjusting to everything, but right now you need to focus on the present before you can focus on the past, and that is getting on that ship and capturing the djinn that can heal all of us." She proudly spoke while pulling away from the boy and forcing him to look into her dark emerald eyes.

"Right!"

[Sarnai's pov]

"There! All done your Highness!" Yamraiha sang as she finished re-applying my bandages before cleaning up her workspace.

"Thank you Yamraiha, I feel better already!" I chimed in while I pulled up the sleeves of my dress and began adjusting it so my attire doesn't rub against the fabric of the bandages.

"Are you alright? Are the bandages too tight?" She asked as she raced back over to the table I was sitting at,

"No, you did a wonderful job, it's just my clothes and the bandages are rubbing together and it's very uncomfortable," I nervously laughed. At the same time, I continued to pick at my outfit, regretting even wearing something as tight as this even in the first place.

"I do have some medical gowns that you could wear, they're not too tight and I can even lend you a robe if you want more closure?" She asked and I gave her a wide smile before nodding immediately.
