The Avatar Returns

I sat pouting in my room.  Zuko told me that I was to stay in my room while he did "business."  I already knew what that was, but I was really looking forward to seeing it happen.

Besides he locked the door from the outside - although.  I think I saw a something that could help me get out if here.  Last night before I had fallen asleep I searched the room for just the fun of it.  I came across a spare key hidden in a nook.  Who knew?! Maybe it would work.  I took it out and tried it on the lock, sure enough, it worked!

I came to the door just outside the deck and all I could see was sea.  (Heh, that sounds funny.)  that part must've already happened.  Which means that Aang must be in a cell!

I wondered through the halls looking for him when I heard, "The Avatar has escaped!"

Next thing I know Aang comes rushing past me, but stops suddenly and looks back at me, "Are you a prisoner too?"

What do I say, but my mouth decides before my mind and I say, "Yes.  I know the way out."

We run through the halls and encounter some guards.  Aang ran and opened up another door and we had a little run in with Zuko, but we finally made it outside.

While Zuko and Aang fought (if you could even call it that)  I awkwardly stood to the side trying not to get hit with a blast of fire.

At the same time both Aang and I looked over his left shoulder and saw Appa trying to land on the ship.

"What is that?"

Aang happily shouted, "Appa!"

Aang turned just in time to use his staff to block a fire blast from Zuko. He then used his staff as a helicopter to escape the blasts and comes back down on the edge of the deck, almost falling overboard. He regained his balance and blew three more fireballs before his staff was knocked away from him. He dodges a few more blasts before he was finally knocked overboard into the cold icy waters below.

In hysteria Katara yelled,"Aang! No!"

Zuko then turned to me, "You, what are you doing?!"

"I-I need to leave!"

Zuko turned on me and blasted fire towards me and on instinct I shoved my hands in front of my face to protect myself.  Energy seemingly rushed through me and fire seemed to burst form my hands.  Zuko slipped up, but blocked it. Through gritted teeth he said, "I thought you couldn't bend?"

My eyes were wide and I had no idea how I did that.  "I can't!"

Just then Aang broke the surfaceof he water in front of the ship, towering high over the bridge atop his swirling maelstrom of water.

Zuko and I looked up at the swirling column of water and the Avatar at its pinnacle with dismay and fear. Aang landed on the deck, his eyes still glowing, and bends the water from the column around him in circle. He releases it and it expands outward in a shockwave that blasts Zuko and his men overboard, but I stand there perfectly dry and not hit.  What the heck is going on today.

"Did you see what he just did?"  Exclaimed a voice I knew far to well. I looked up and saw Katara and Sokka up on Appa.

I knew what was going to happen next. Aang had left his avatar state and was now standing on the deck, his knees wobbling. He falls forward, the white energy fading from his eyes and tattoos. Appa lands and Katara and Sokka jump off to retrieve him.

Katara ran over to him, "Aang! Are you okay?"  She kneeled down and cradled him while Sokka stood beside her.

"Hey Katara. Hey Sokka. Thanks for coming."
