you ended up getting detention for punching cat. you sat in the classroom, finishing your science homework. the door slid open, and emma walked in. you turned away, embarrassed.
"hey," you said, fiddling with a blue pen.
"hey there," emma spoke, "can i tell you something?" you nodded your head, letting her sit in the chair next to you.
"so, what's up?" you asked, awkwardness present in your quivering voice.
"i just want to say, thank you for defending me. you didn't have to do that.." her voice trailed off, looking down at the ground in embarrassment.
"of course. you're my friend for god's sake," you explained, smiling at her. she looked up and smiled at you back, her leaning in and kissing you on the cheek.
and your mind raced like crazy, as the realization hit that emma just kissed you. you were frozen, confused, and, of course, blushing like crazy.
"oh uhm-"
you smiled at emma.
"you know what, ima leave detention. it's pretty boring right now," you said, getting up and grabbing your bags. emma followed you out the door. you two walked to your house, talking to each other while walking down the pavement. once you reached your house, you thanked emma and gave her a hug. she hugged you tightly, slightly suffocating you. but you walked in your house, not knowing you would die the following day.
