CHAPTER TWO

you and james weren't dating.

to be honest, you had no clue what you were. it first started when you two met at a concert in delaware for iron maiden.

during the mosh, you bumped into this sweaty blonde.

you didn't pay any attention to it (as people in the pit always ran into you) until he grabbed your arm. "james." he yelled over the loud riffs, "good choice in music." you smiled and nodded, "y/n. same to you."

he asked to get drinks together after and you agreed. later on, that night you got drunk, wasted, and fucked in the backseat of his car. it was just a hookup and you didn't except him to still be with you in the morning but to your surprise you awoke to his side.

he drove you home, gave you his number, and you ended up figuring out he lived only 15 minutes from your house.

when he called you over, you got to meet his friends, lars & cliff and instantly you guys became a tight group and hung out frequently.

you fucked and messed around a few more times when kirk came into the picture.

he was quietly reserved at first. soft spoken, soft mannered, and you all were unsure if you should hang with him. still, james was desperate for a lead guitarist & kirk just wanted to rock out.

when he got around and let his more insane alter ego loose, everyone found out he had a wicked sense of humor and a badass attitude.

one night you all drove up to the cemetery gates to hang and get loose.

you and cliff stayed behind at the truck, watching the others amusingly while they went to jump the fence to trespass. he lit a smoke, and you lit one too. "what do you think of kirk?" he said, taking a drag.

your eyes cast to him and watched as he was the first to jump the fence, sticking his tongue out at lars and james in a teasing manner and calling them 'faggots'.

you shrugged, "i think he's cute. he sure does know how to wear a sleeveless shirt." to which, cliff nodded and remained quiet.

later on, james found out about this. you hadn't blamed cliff for telling him because you knew james harassed him with questions until he croaked.

it ended up into a small argument and he wound-up hitting you. it wasn't a pretty bruise either. it ran along the whole right side of your face, turning from deep purple to mustard yellow. but he was drunk, and he of course apologized profusely.

you knew this and forgave him and that was the end.

but since, you two haven't been the same. the hookups stopped. the rendezvous ended. it was a simple, mutual falling out. never said but done regardless.

because it was never announced, you had no clue how james would feel about you getting with kirk. especially now that they were closer than ever.

"do you want me to stay for the night?" you asked kirk. he was a bit taken back by the sudden question, but he nodded before you could even think to change your mind.
