In the bunker

Dean's POV

I'm in my room, with Ellie, who's laying on the floor. I don't know why, but it's something that she does a lot. I've asked her if she wants a chair or to sit on my bed with me, but she said no. She wants to lay on the floor. She seems alright, so I guess it's ok.

Ellie: I just don't understand why the red jolly ranchers have to be so confusing.

She's been ranting about red jolly ranchers, for about an hour now. She doesn't like them, because there are more than one flavor of red jolly rancher, and it confuses her. Even though she could just read what the flavor is, on the wrapper.

Ellie: I wanna know if I'm about to eat watermelon or cherry. Because one of those flavors is way better than the other one.

Dean: Ellie-

Ellie: I don't wanna think I'm about to eat watermelon, then get cherry, instead. I hate the cherry ones.

Dean: Sweetheart, you know the flavor's usually on the wrapper. Right?

Ellie: Dad, you know I don't have time to look at the wrapper. Right? She says, mocking my tone.

Dean: Did you come to my room to rant about jolly ranchers or do you actually need something?

Ellie: I came in here because I'm bored and you won't give me my phone back.

Dean: That's because you're grounded. You know that. You can have your phone, and your other privileges back, when you're ungrounded.

Ellie: "privileges"? You make it sound like I'm spoiled.

You are. I give you everything you want and let you do whatever you want. You have a driver's license, but no car, because I drive you everywhere. You don't really HAVE to do anything that you don't wanna do, because I do pretty much everything for you. You live your life without a care in the world about anything, because you don't have to care about anything. You're spoiled.

Dean: You kinda are.

Ellie: No, I'm not.

Dean: Yeah, you are. Ellie, you have everything you need and more. I give you whatever you want and I let you go wherever you want. You don't have a car, because I take you everywhere you wanna go. You'll probably never have to have a car, because I'll always take you wherever you wanna go. You never have to do anything that you don't wanna do, not even chores, because if you decide not to do them, 9 times out of 10, I'll do it for you. You're spoiled.

Ellie: I don't wanna talk about this anymore.

That's because you know I'm right.

Dean: That's because you know I'm right.

Ellie: No.

There's a few seconds of silence and I go back to watching whatever movie I found. I don't even know what this is, but Ellie seems to be enjoying it. I know I said that her and Krissy's grounding meant no electronics, but she's with me. And this isn't something that she asked to watch. It just so happened to be on, when she came in, and she just so happens to like it.
