On Monday I got to school super early, I decided to go to my locker, so I wasn't late to class (as usual). When I got to the school, I saw him. The boy that sat on the porch with me. He was walking out of the hallway, talking to someone behind him with his head slightly turned so he didn't see me. I slid past him and walked quickly to my locker, grabbed my books and went to class.
By the time lunch came, I walked to my table where I sit with Sophia. another girl named Karla and a boy named Raul, both of which I hardly knew sat with us also.
"Señorita, where have you been?" Raul said rather loudly.
"Why, did I miss something?" I asked.
"No, no just missing you." Raul said, in a flirty voice. As soon as I heard him say it someone rammed their shoulder into my backpack and kept walking. I turned to yell at them, and I was surprised to see the boy, walking quickly past me with his jaw clenched tight, almost knocking me down. Wow ok then. I thought to myself.
I don't know what happened. I thought he was a nice guy but he seemed upset for some reason. I wanted to talk to him, to ask him what was wrong. Since lunch had just started I had time to go find him and speak with him.
I walked quickly in the direction he went as I heard Sophia behind me saying "Where are you going?!?" As I went into the hallway, I saw him turning a corner a couple classrooms down from where I was, so I sped up, trying to catch up with him. I got close enough to tap his shoulder but he kept walking like he didn't feel a thing. I jogged and stopped directly in front of him and said angrily "What's your deal?"
"You know, you should be an actress, because your pretty good at pretending." He said with a scowl.
"I don't know what your talking about!"
"Well I'm just going to say that you shouldn't play with people's feelings. It's not cool."
"Again, don't know what you're talking about." I said furrowing my brow.
"I heard what your boyfriend said to you, I don't appreciate you acting like you were into me this weekend. You should have just told me about him."
"Wait. You thought.." I burst into laughter "Raul? I barely know him, he practically flirts with every girl in the school." I said trying to catch my breath.
"Oh." He said and chuckled a bit, then I laughed again at him chuckling, and soon we were both full on laughing.
"Hey listen I'm sorry I said those things and pushed you. I was just upset." He said with a guilty look on his face.
"It's totally ok. I would punch myself in the face if I dated Raul." I said giggling.
"Well I guess I'll see you around." He waved and turned to walk to class.
