Chapter 13

Elli Pov:

I wake up to my alarm buzzing. I check the clock and see it's currently 8:00. Our game was at 2:30. But between getting ready and eating and going out and practicing was a lot, so I figured it was better to wake up early and be prepared.

I looked over to Issy and she had woken up too. She rubbed her eyes and got up from the bed. She walked into the bathroom and I heard the shower go on.

I groan, slapping my face. Issy takes long showers. I should have woken up earlier to shower before her. Now I'm going to have to wait for a while

I decided to get up from my bed and get everything packed and ready. I pulled my uniform and some clothes afterwards. I made the bed I used and placed my clothes on my bed.

After a while Issy finally comes out of the bathroom. I grab my clothes and head to the shower. Once I finish showering I change and brush my teeth. I put my hair into my famous messy bun, which I always do before games.

Issy waits for me before grabbing her bag and heading out the door. I grab my bag and phone off the charger and head out with her.

"Hey" Paige says through the phone

"Hi" I smile, "How's your day been?"

"Pretty good, I had a workout this morning and now I'm about to go eat with Evina, Nika, Chris, and Aaliyah." She replies

"That sounds great" I respond

"How's your day been?" She says

"Pretty fine, just getting ready for the game. I'm currently walking over to the bus, to go to Saint John's," I say looking over at the bus parked.

"I'll be watching it" She smiles

I smile at her.

"Elli! Hurry up or we're leaving you" Lucy yells

I roll my eyes. "I'll be there in a sec. Why are you guys always rushing me? Can't a girl do something in piece," I shout at her sarcastically

Paige laughs through the phone. "so guess I'll talk to you later," She says

"I'll call you after the game. I love you" I respond

"I love you too, go get 'em." She says winking before hanging up.

I ran over to the bus where my teammates were waiting for me. "See I made it on time" I say looking at Lucy

"Barely" Lucy says chuckling

"Yeah ok, I hate you guys" I say sarcastically

"Love you too!" The whole team shouts

The drive wasn't that long. I spent most of it texting Tyler, Evina and Paige. Once we arrived we all got up and headed over to Coach. She directed us to the locker room so we could all change.

Once we all changed we made our way to the field. We had about 20 minutes until the game started. So we just warmed up until then.

Once it was time for the game to start we all went into a huddle while Coach gave us a pep talk.

"Ok girls we've trained for this. This is our first away game. Let's show this team what we're made of. Remember everything we've done in practice. Don't let nerves get to you." Coach says

"We got these guys," Charlotte, a senior on our team, says.
