"We're gonna be late." He was leaning up against the doorframe, eyes following her through the bathroom as she finished getting around.

She still had rollers in her hair, two different boots on to see which went better with her dress better and her eyeliner in hand.

"If you say that again, you're getting a different room." She warned in a joking manner, even though she was over hearing that from him.

With a soft smirk, Lindsey nodded. "You look..." he paused for a second, she's scanning over her side profile before he continued.

"Tired?" She wondered, tossing her mascara back into her makeup bag.

"Well, I was going to say that you look beautiful..." he wrapped his around her waist, tickling the side of her hip lightly.

Rolling her eyes playfully, she smacked his arm as she tossed her head back to let out a deep laugh. "Linds!" She dropped her makeup in the sink, leaning into the counter as she felt his lips meet the side of her head.

"You're beautiful." He whispered, a soft grin trailing across his face as that contagious giggle of hers filled the air around them. "Most beautiful woman in the world." He added as she sank into him completely.

Staring into his deep blue eyes, Stevie brought a hand up to his face to cradle his chin. "I'm sorry..." she stated after a moment of just looking into those captivating orbs.

It didn't happen very often, not after as many years as they'd been together, but she really fell in love with him in that moment. There was that feeling in her stomach- those little butterflies that surfaced only on rare occasions at that point in their lives.

Of course, she loved him... She loved him, but loving someone and being "in love" with someone is different.

In that moment, she was in love with him.

Creasing a brow, he slowly rubbed the small of her back. "Did you do something?" He asked with a little smile.

He was just joking, but that look lingering in her eyes told him that she wasn't.

"Why are you sorry?" Lindsey still held her close, feeling as her nails softly grazed his cheekbone.

"I'm sorry for not being the best wife I could have been..." her voice was suddenly much softer, biting down on her bottom lip. "I could have-"

He shook his head, cutting her off as he pushed some of her hair back. "You've always been the best." He assured, lightly patting her back. "And I love you." He added, giving her a quick kiss before he left her standing there, alone.

Swallowing hard, she brought a hand up to her face to collect the tears before they ruined her makeup. "Love you..." she whispered back, only loud enough for herself to hear.

For some reason, no matter how hard she'd tried to shake it, that dream that she'd had a couple of nights earlier was haunting her... It just kept coming back. And the more she thought about it, the more worried she had become.

She felt like something was brewing in the universe... Something she wasn't going to like.

"Okay..." She stepped into the suite a few minutes later, using her fingers to fluff her hair one more time. "I'm ready." She assured, watching as he pushed himself up from the chair.

He held out his hand her for instantly, tangling their fingers together before he leaned in. "You're the best, Steph." Lindsey felt bad right away. "You have nothing to be sorry for, okay?" He brought her hand up, kissing her knuckles.

With a light sigh, she gave him a thankful smile. "Let's go see our kids." She squeezed his hand, silently thanking him for that reassurance.
