I stared at the ceiling and listened to the faint sound of birds chirping. I glanced over at the clock that read seven o'clock.
"Damn it..." I mumbled and jumped out of bed. I raced to my closet and threw on my uniform. As soon as I got my hair and makeup done I ran to school.
"You're late." Elizabeth whispered to me when I sat in my seat.
"I know. My mum bought me a new alarm clock. I guess it doesn't work so well." Liz laughed.
The day went by pretty fast. I skipped down the hallway and out the school doors.
"Darcy!" Jordyn called after me. I spun around and saw her running to me.
"Why so excited?" I asked her while laughing.
"I've been meaning to tell you! Ive got these! Mum wants to know if you'll come with me." She squealed. I frowned.
"You know my mum. She doesn't let me go near One Direction merchandise. Imagine letting me go to a concert. I think not, Jordyn. Sorry..."
"Just ask! Please?" She begged. I smiled slightly and nodded.
"Fine, I will ask." I assured Jordyn. I gave her a hug and she ran off, screaming.
I walked down the street to my house. My mum was out watering the front lawn. I thought I'd make my move.
"Hello!" She greeted me.
"Hi! Uhm, do you think I could hang out with Jordyn this weekend?"
"Where will you two be going?"
"London..."
"Where in London, Darcy?"
"A concert...?"
"Darcy, please be specific. I don't like playing these games!"
"Sorry, mum! A One Direction--"
"NO."
"Why?" I whined. "Please? Why won't you let me go?" She sighed.
"I'll...I'll think about it. Get inside." She said.
I walked inside and ran upstairs to text Jordyn about my mum's decision. I got some sweats on and threw my hair in a bun. I walked downstairs and sat on the couch.
"Yes." My mum said from the kitchen.
"What?"
"You can go."
"Seriously?!" I jumped up to my feet.
"Yep. When are you leaving for London?"
"I dunno! Lemme ask Jordyn!" I said. I have her a hug and ran up to my room.
"Hello?" Jordyn answered on the other line.
"Hey, Jordyn. It's Darcy."
"DARCY! What did she say...?"
"She said yes!" I heard Jordyn scream. I giggled. "When are we leaving?"
"Uh... Let me ask my mum." She said. I waited for a while. "She wants to talk with your mum."
"Okay here." I ran downstairs and handed my phone to my mum. After a while, I was handed my phone back.
"You're going over to Jordyn's in a bit. Go pack some clothes." My mum smiled and watched me run up the stairs.
I threw a bunch of clothes in a bag and made my way back to my mother who slightly smiled. She looked at me and I could see in her eyes that she was worried. I wanted to ask her what was wrong but decided to just keep my mouth shut. I said goodbye and walked up the street to Jordyn's house.
