Coming home there’s only one person I need to talk to... Kai. “Hey, get online man we need to talk” sending and hoping for once he’ll actually respond quickly.
“Ok no problem” His answer only taking seconds, well that’s a relief; I need to sort this whole Katie thing out.
Running up through the house I jump straight on to msn, Kai already waiting for me.
“hey”
“Hey . so whats so urgent”
“Well...It’s a girl”
“Yeah, so your finally ready to talk about you and Katie getting together and you leaving behind all your problems”
“What...How did you know about Katie”
“Wow, you may be one of the smartest people I know... but sometimes mate, your an Idiot”
“It’s not that obvious”
“Haha..ok... No I’ll admit I had to be Sherlock holmes to notice you two sitting together all the time, you suddenly being on facebook and msn all the time, not spending time with me”
“haha, aw you jealous”

“Really”
“Ok... just a little, but that’s beside the point, why aren’t you already going out with her”
“Im not planning on it, it’s not a good idea... but she’s already so close to me, It’s going to be hard on her if I suddenly stop talking to her”
“Why...why not go out with her, she’s a nice girl, she’ll be good for you, you could do with someone else to talk to”
“Are you forgetting the whole situation, that’s exactly it, she’s a great girl and if we get together then she might change... she can’t be a part of my life”
“Oh come on, grow up dude... you like her, she likes you... what have you got to lose”
“I have nothing to lose... she has everything”
“Just... do it, because I know you like her, and if you don’t talk to her, then it may slip whilst I’m talking to her!”

Katie’s name appears on my screen and instantly the message comes “Hey”
Returning to Kai, “Do not talk to her... ok”
“Ok man..but you better start now”
Sighing I open the conversation, I’ve got no idea how im going to do this.
“hey , how you doing”
“im alright glad the days coming to an end haha, how about you?”
“Yeah, im fine I guess” hmm maybe I can just edge around this whole thing
“You guess? What’s up?” ah crap, I don’t want this.
“Oh it’s nothing, don’t worry” This isn’t going to work, she’s not going to give up this easily
“No come on, talk to me, you can trust me” well I walked into this... time to bite the bullet.
“its just, well i like this girl, but i don’t know how to tell her, or if there is even any point...” There is no point, this is the worst cover ever, she’s just going to expect it to happen now... it’s time to get out of this.. My mind and heart going in opposite directions.
“so what’s the problem?” Oh the problem... it’s just you...
““it’s nothing to worry about. Anyway, i gotta go, bye” Nice one jack, absolutely stunning, hitting the appear offline button... going back to Kai
“Hey”
“What are you doing.. what happened... Katie’s online why are you off”
“I panicked”
“haha... never thought i’d see the day you lacked confidence, everything thats happened and your scared of talking to a girl”
“Shut it Kai”
“Im going to talk to her” what ?!
“NO” The desperation was just a little too much to contain for a moment.
“So do something”
“I will”
“What..”
“I’ll talk to her about it”
“You’ll ask her out”
“Maybe... when the time is right” Part of me hopes that time doesn't come..
“Whatever... I have to go, see you later”
“Alright, cheers”
“Anytime”
As Kai goes offline, my heart is racing... crap... what have I just agreed to...
