Katie’s POV
"Kaatieee!"
"Stacyy!"
I just got off the bus to where Stacy is waiting for me. We're off on our monthly shopping spree. It’s our 'Ka-cy' time as she puts it.
After looking around a few shops in town we end up in 'frisky'...one of our favourite shops. We pick up a bunch of clothes and head off to the dressing rooms, the shop assistants know us so well we get the large one to share.
The first item I pick out of my pile to try on is a black slim line dress, with a zebra print top half, and a nice cut, not too low or too high. Looking at it all I can think is I'm not going to be able to get this on, but it’s my size, so here goes.
"So Katie, you and Jack, what's going on there?" Stacy asks as I'm half way into the dress.
"I don't know to be honest, I like him, but he likes this girl, I don't know who though, so I don't know whether to bother"
"Ooh you like him, you know, he's one that I've never bothered with, but he is hot!" She says, almost druelling.
"Yeah well I like him, so don't bother" I state bluntly. I shouldn't have to but Stacy has had almost every guy in our year, and at the college down the road from us, it has to be said.
"Ooh how about I test him out for you, put him on my rating scale" she says way too happily, and yes she does have a rating scale. By this time I have got the dress on, looking at myself I can't help but think damn I look good!
"No Stacy, plus he's not that type of guy"
"How would you know?"
"Because we talked about this. He said he's not about the sex, he likes a girl he can have a good conversation with."
"Oh that's no fun. What's a relationship without sex? Actually what's a relationship, it’s all about the sex! Haha!" Looking at her I laugh, but just shake my head, she knows where I stand. I'm a relationship kind of girl. She just laughs at my reaction.
I look at her, she is now wearing a short, just-cover-your-backside sort of short, black sequined halter neck dress. A low cut, but high in the terms of Stacy, she's looking in the mirror and I can tell that's what she is scrutinising.
"You look great Stac'" I compliment her before she starts criticising herself.
"Hmm...I do don't I?" She says before turning to look at me "daaamn girl! You look HOT! If I wasn't so into guys I would do you right here, right now!" I look at her and burst out laughing!
"Do you think so? I might get it for Alex's party, do you think Jack would like it?" I ask her checking myself out again.
"I think he would love it! Get it, wow it’s on sale too!" She responds with glee as she checks out the price tag at the back for me.
Walking out of the shops talking about what we had bought when a gorgeous Latino walked by checking out Stacy. "Hey there." His says in a gorgeous voice winking at her. She looks at me pleadingly...
"Ok, go...but be careful" I say putting on a mother-like tone and wagging my finger at her. She laughs, hugs me and runs off to catch up him, I'm sure I will hear all about this tomorrow. Now with nothing to do I head off home to show my mum and sister, who’s only in town for the weekend, my accumulation of new clothes, including my new knock out dress.
3 Days Later...
"Hey Katie!"
I look up from my book and see Jessica walking over to me in our usual spot in the common room. "Hey Jess' what's up?"
"You know how Alex's party this Friday and you were planning on wowing Jack?"
"Yeah" I say wondering where she is going with this.
"Well I don't think you can..." She noticed the look on my face as she carries on. "...he's not going to the party."
"What? Why?"
"I don't know but I was talking to Alex about who's going and who's not going. And he was on the 'not going' list"
"But he has to go, I have to wow him..."
"I know, you really do, although I'm pretty sure you wow him on a day to day basis, he can't help but smile when he looks at you." I can't help but blush at this, does he really? "I suggest you just convince him, he will listen to you"
"Yeah I might, do you think it will work?" She nods in response.
We sit talking about the party that is now only 3 days away for the next two hours. Talking about everything from outfits to whose going to be there and who we think is going to get completely wasted. We both thought Stacy haha.
Now just to see if he will come...
