Cinnamon's POV.

I placed my hand on my cheek as I waited for 3 o'clock . Currently, I was sitting in this boring ass meeting with these boring ass corporate people talking about boring ass shit. But it pays the bills I suppose.

"We will be continuing this tomorrow, you guys have a great day." The man in a fancy suit stated as we all got up at the same time. I pulled down my dress grabbing all my papers and brief case walking out of the office. I'm stuck in between being hungry and being sleepy which is not a good mix. As soon as I thought that my stomach began to growl.

"You're not you when you're hungry." A familiar voice stated behind me.

It was my friend , Journey.

"Girl shut up." I chuckled looking at her. "Where have you been?" She rolled her eyes. Journeys facial expressions always make me laugh because she wears her emotions on her sleeve which is why we get along so well.

"My head has been stuck in paper work all day. They work us like a damn dog." She said opening the door for me to exit. We were going to our usual coffee place down the street from the job. They had the best beignets and hot cocoa which would definitely hit the spot right now.

"They really do. To be young, gifted and black ri-" I was stating until I got knocked off my feet. I looked up noticing I bumped into someone.

"I apologize, are you alright?" The smooth voice questioned reaching out her hand.

This person was beautiful. She was wearing a black dress suit with a long V in the middle that showed her chest just a little. Nice black silky skin and short hair. A smiled laced her lips as I took her hand dusting myself off once my feet were back on the ground. I smiled back tilting my head to the side.

"Im sorry about that.. I wasn't watching where I was going." She looked in my eyes with a look I couldn't put my finger on. I couldn't help but admire her features.

"It's fineeee...." She carried out.
"Cinnamon." I said.
"Beautiful name for a very beautiful woman." Her words were like silk . They came out so lightly that I barely realized I was blushing.

I cleared my throat."And you are?"

"Letitia." Her tongue slid across her bottom lip which caused me to mentally fold but I wouldn't show it.

"Well Letitia , I have to get going. Again I apologize." I said beginning to walk away forgetting that journey was beside me watching this unfold.

I felt her grasp my hand before I could get far. Shivers automatically hit me harder than a baseball bat.

"I'll only accept your apology if you give me your number." She began pulling out her phone. I held back my smile grabbing it as I put my number in and saved it as : Cinnamon .

After I finished I gave it back. Something about this girl made me freeze up like a deer in headlights. It's like I was locked in a trance without trying to be. Before I could even come to the fact that we were still holding hands , she brought her lips up to my hand and laid a soft kiss on them.

I pulled away without holding in my smile and walked away.

"Bitch, why am I wet and I don't even go that way." Journey said with an amused look on her face. Laughing I slowly tried to shake the thought of her away.

Once we made it to the coffee shop I took in the beautiful smell of coffee and pastries. We went up and ordered and pretty soon got our coffees walking out of the small shop. I checked my phone to see if I received a text of any sort. It has only been 30 minutes so I'm not expecting anything right away.

When me and Journey parted ways I made my way to my apartment ready to get in between my sheets. Unlocking my door I let out a sigh of relief to be back in the domain of my home hearing a loud purring sound.

"Awe spice , mama didn't forget about you of course." I smiled at the old cat. I've had spice since the day I graduated high school which was years ago. She's been my emotional support animal through everything and honestly I don't know what i'd do without her.

After getting me and spice together and ready for bed I laid down pulling out my favorite book "The Fault In Our Stars" an oldie but still a goodie. Before I could get too lost in the book I heard my phone ring. A phone call?

"Hellooo?" I asked soon as the phone hit my ear.

"Cinnamon? Thank god I thought you'd give me the wrong number." Said the raspy voice which sent my chills.

"Now why would I do that Letitia." A chuckle escaped my lips.

"You are so right. I'm glad you didn't , I've been dying to hear your voice again." She exclaimed through the phone. I bit my lip looking at spice like she could read my thoughts.
"Hm, Is that so?" I blushed. "That is so, baby girl"
