The End of the Road (Dazai x Chuuya)

Chapter 1 - On the run

"Elise~, why can't you just listen to me once? Stop drawing on my documents, please~." Ogai Mori pleaded to a little girl with long curly blonde hair.

"But I wanna draw, you don't let me have any fun," Elise said angrily.

While Mori and Elise argued, a short ginger burst into the room kicking the door open. One of his hands was in his pocket and the other was dragging a chubby man to Mori.

"This the guy you wanted?" Chuuya, the short ginger said calmly then tossed the man onto the floor in front of Mori's desk.

"Ah, yes. The director of the Taika business, Fumihito. This is the person, thank you very much, Mr. Nakahara." Mori said approaching the man lying tied up on the ground, "I would like to have a word with Fumihito in private so Chuuya, Elise would you mind stepping out for a moment?

"My pleasure," Stated Chuuya as he exited the room with Elise following close behind.

As they left the room Elise immediately asked, "Do you wanna play hide n seek with me?"

"No thanks," Chuuya quickly answered leaving the child alone without hesitation.

Chuuya wasn't a fan of kids or Mori for a matter of fact. Chuuya didn't like most people because he almost always has been betrayed somehow by them. Chuuya then left the building swiftly and hurried back home where he didn't have an annoying boss to deal with.

When Chuuya arrived back home he grabbed a bottle of wine and sat on his couch then watched TV. Unlike Chuuya he watched the news, and not to his surprise Fumihito was already all over the news. He soon got bored and just dozed off to sleep.

Only a few minutes pass and Chuuya received a phone call. When he glanced at the number he saw that it was Mori. He didn't want to go back to work and knew that if Mori really needed someone he would just call Akutagawa. With that conclusion, Chuuya let the phone ring until Mori gave up.

As Chuuya tried going back to sleep after the ringing stopped he was met with another phone call. He got up and saw Mori calling again. Instead of hanging up he grabbed his phone and threw it at the wall. His phone didn't break but right as Chuuya threw it he hit the silent button. Now Chuuya could rest in peace, he went back to sleep for the night.

"Chirp chirp"

"Ugh, what time is it?" Chuuya said tiredly.

Chuuya went to grab his phone and was shocked when there was a huge crack across the screen from top to bottom. Then Chuuya remembered last night, he thought that he hadn't thrown it too hard but that wasn't the case. Ignoring the crack he turned the phone on and saw that it was 6:23 AM. Chuuya didn't think he slept for a long time but when he saw the time he grabbed his coat, and hat, and slid a bottle of wine into his coat. He assumed that he would drink the rest of the bottle at work because he had a hunch that today wasn't going to go very well.

As he walked down the street and headed to the mafia's headquarters he noticed something strange. There were no cars on the road and no one was walking outside either. Something even weirder is that all the windows to the houses were closed.

Seeing that, Chuuya was a bit on edge but continued on his way. When he got to work he went into the building and saw absolutely no one. The entire building was empty and this made Chuuya even more paranoid. As he walked closer to the entrance he saw a shadow dash by him.

"Who's there, you aren't very sneaky whoever you are," Chuuya said making sure nothing was coming up behind him.

After saying that he was quickly ambushed by multiple armed police officers. Chuuya was startled for a second not expecting a fight so early in the morning.
