Chapter 10 - Payback

Anny is now shivering in fear, holding her head with both of her hands, gritting her teeth as her face just looked like she has seen death in front of her eyes as Jero's left hand suddenly patted Anny's back, trying to comfort Anny.
"Just like what she said, Anny. Just because we're born from darkness, doesn't mean we belong to it."

"Dammit! My bones are chilled!" Said Acel,flapping her arms and stamping her feet. Mike, Acel, Jero, Anny, and Liz areall outside the shelter with Mike training the teenagers' powers or magics.Jero with their hair tied up in a ponytail is just sitting on the sidewalk,having Anny being on their left side as Anny is getting trained by Mike bymaking her learn some fighting movements and attacks as Acel is trying to makeher vampire wings appear out of her back since she doesn't even use any of hervampire magics as she can't even get the wings out of her back.
Liz and Billy are just inside the shelter to watch over the survivors that theyfound so far, they even found some while training out there and let them in theshelter.
"J-Jero?" Anny called out for Jero which made them slowly look at their twinsister, seeing her being shy as usual.
"If you don't mind me asking... were you always like this? You know...emotionless?" Anny curiously asked as no one in the group can even hear theirconversation between each other. Jero only looked at Anny for a while, makingAnny uncomfortable as she tried to look at Jero in the eyes but still can'tjust because of her social anxiety.
"No, I wasn't always like this." Jero answered, now making Anny's eyes widenedin surprise that Jero actually answered the question as they paused for amoment, having a moment to take a deep breath.
"I was just like you before..." Jero paused just to look up at the dark red sky."A very shy anxious person... I'm still a shy person but my shyness is a lotworse before, I act very much the same as you do." Jero explains a bit.
"Did the torture that you had before meeting Acel caused you to be like this?"Anny asked Jero once again being curious which took a moment for Jero to answerthis.
"Not really." Is what Jero only answered as they kept on being in silence after this as Anny just kept looking at Jero while Jero is just looking up at the sky. Sooner or later, Jero then looked at their left to look at Anny, showing their face being in despair as both of their pupils are blue. A face of despair that shows a lot of messages, indicating that they've suffered more that Anny thinks.

After looking at each other, Jero was suddenly called to make them start their training.

Liz is seen being tired and panting heavily as soon as Jero started approaching Mike and Acel. Jero then stopped walking as soon as they are near Acel and Mike while Liz is seen walking away, approaching Anny for her to rest with Anny.
"So... how's the strength of your body going?" Mike asked right before they can start training Jero's body again, Jero looked on their right while tilting their head on the right too.
"Growing a bit stronger like yesterday." Jero replied with their usual monotonic.
"Good, now... shall we start the training?" Mike once again asked, Jero opened their mouth as they were about to answer... but was interrupted once they felt something as Jero started turning their head, left and right, looking around for something. Mike and Acel were confused as they watched Jero look around.
"Look out!" Acel suddenly shouted while looking above Jero as Mike then summoned his flintlock once he looked above Jero, Jero quickly turned around to see 5 red slimy tentacles behind them as they were about to summon multiple knives but didn't have any time as they were grabbed by the tentacle, squishing Jero which made their bones crack a lot as Jero gritted their teeth. Khen, Dio, and Cul were all seen standing on a top of a building as the tentacles came from both Dio and Khen.
Mike then started firing his gun to the tentacles which is not even getting affected.
"Try shooting the two up there, Mike, dammit!" Acel shouted at Mike before she jumps up to the tentacles, standing on one of the tentacles while still using her right hand to make herself stand properly before her two scythe tentacles came out of her back before using them to cut about 2 tentacles which made the tentacles started shake which is making Acel dizzy before she suddenly let go and let herself fall to the ground as Anny and Liz caught her perfectly.
Mike then pointed his gun to the three on the top of a building.
"Split." Is what he said before pulling the trigger to fire the gun just for this attack to be useless as Cul used one of his devices to erase this attack as if he's using a computer to delete this attack.
This made Mike's eyes widened before Cul once again used one of his devices to attack Mike with an electrocution gun which started electrocuting Mike, suddenly, two red tentacles suddenly grabbed Mike on his torso and one on the right leg, Mike struggled as he can't even break free, later, both of the tentacles suddenly started pulling Mike's body as Mike started grunting loudly as his right leg suddenly got severed after pulling too hard as bloods splattered around them as Liz quickly caught him after the tentacles dropped Mike.
Acel pointed her right hand to Cul, using her right hand to suddenly fire webs out of her fingers, firing the webs to Cul, using the webs to try to pull Cul off the building but Cul once again used his electrocuting device, electrocuting Acel.
Anny then manipulated her own size, growing until she's about 50 feet tall, using this size to punch the building where exactly the three are standing, making the building slowly collapse.
This only made the three escape quickly with Jero on their hands as Anny's eyes widen in shock after trying to help Jero as Acel shouted Jero's name while tears almost came out of her eye. Jero couldn't do anything but watch once this happen since their too weak to move after getting their bones crushed.
